I, the undersigned, City Clerk of the City of Lynwood, and
ex-officio clerk of the Council of said City, do hereby certify that the
above is a true and correct copy of Ordinance No. 1218 adnota~i t,~
the City Council of the City of Lynwood, and that the same was passed on
the date and by the vote therein stated.

Section 5. Section 25-4.6, "Accessory Structures", is
hereby delete in its entirety.
Section 6. A new Section 25-4.6 is hereby added to read
as follows:
"25-4.6 Accessory Structures,
~A, Attached Accessory Structures. An accessory structure
that is attached to a main structure shall meet all of the
requirements for location of the main structure except
as provided below:
~~ 1, Canopies. Canopies, or roofs attached to the main
building or connecting the main building with a detached
accessory building, may extend into a required rear or
interior side yard, provided that portions of such struc-
tures extending into the yard:
"(a). Shall not exceed fifteen (15) feet in height or
project closer than five (5) feet to an interior aide
or rear lot line;
"(b). Shall be entirely open on at least three (3)
sides except for necessary supporting cdumns; except
that a roof connecting a main building and an accessory
building shall be open on two (2) sides:'

B, Detached Accessory Structures,
"1. A detached accessory structure shall meet the set
back requirements of the main building for the front and
street sideyard areas.
"2. A detached accessory structure may be located within
an interior side yard or rear yard, provided,. that when
such structure is located closer than five (5) feet to an
interior side or rear lot line, one-hour fire walls shall
be required.
In addition, no openings shall be permitted in an exterior wall less
than three (3') feet from the property Line. Roof drainage water
from .an accessory building shall not drop or flow over to any adja-
cent private or public property.
" 3. A detached structure shall msintain a m.inimim five (5') foot
separation from the main structure.
"4. All detached accessory structures shall be limited to fifteen
(L5') feet in height."
"C. Other Structures.
"L. Architectural features i. e. awnings, bay windows, chimizeys,
eaves, stairways or wing walls, etc.), patios, porches,
stairways, or steps, m.ay not project mere than four (4')
feet into any required front or rear yard area, nor into
more than one-half (l/2) the width of any side yard that ie
five (5')feet wide or greater.
"2. Balconies or sundecks shall not encroach or project Into
any required side yard setback."
Section 7. Sections 25-16.4 and 25-16.10 of the Lynwood M~iniclpal
Code are hereby deleted in their entirety.
Section 8. Severability. If any section, subsection, sub-
division, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance or
the application thereof to any person or place, is for any reason
held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court
or competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the
validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance or its appli-
cation to other persons or places. The City Council hereby declares
that it would have adopted this ordinance, and each section thereof,
irrespective of the fact that any one or more section, subsection,
sentence, clause, phrase, or portion, or the application thereof to
any person or place, be declared invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 9. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to
certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to be
published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circu-
lation, printed, published, and circulated in the City of Lynwood.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said
City held on the 17th day of January 1984, and
finally ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council held
on the 7th day of February 1984.
