AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF TIFFIN,
IOWA, CHAPTER 70, TRAFFIC CODE ENFORCEMENT PROCEDURES,
TO CHANGE THE AMOUNT OF PARKING VIOLATION FINES
• UNDER 70.03.
BE°IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa:_
Section I. Purpose: The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Section 70.03,
Code of Ordinances, to change the amount, of parking violations~ fines` from ten
dollars ($10.00) to fifteen dollars ($15.00). t

Section II. Amendment: Section 70.03 of Chapter 70 is hereby amended as
follows:

CHAPTER 70
TRAFFIC CODE ENFORCEMENT PROCEDURES
70.03 PARKING VIOLATIONS: ALTERNATE. Uncontested violations of parking'
restrictions imposed by this Code of Ordinances shall be charged upon a simple notice df a fine
payable at the office of the City Clerk. The simple notice of a fine shall be in the amount of ten
dollars ($10.00) fifteen dollars ($15.00) for all violations except improper use of a persons with
disabilities parking permit. If such fine is not paid within thirty (30) days, it shall be increased by
five dollars ($5.00). The simple notice of a fine for improper use of a persons with disabilities
parking permit is one hundred dollars($100.00).
Section III. Repealer. All ordinances or parts of ordinance in conflict with the
provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section IV. Severability Clause. If any section, provision or part of this
ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not
affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof
not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section V. When Effective. This ordinance shall be in effect after its final
passage, approval, and posting as provided by law.
On the 2-7th day of August 2014, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin,
Iowa, Councilperson Kahler introduced Ordinance No. 2014-361, and moved that it
be given its first reading. The motion was seconded by Councilperson Petersen.
Ayes: Mahler, Petersen, Bartels, Upton
Nays: NONE

Four members of the Council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Steve
Berner declared the motion carried, and Ordinance No. 2014-361, was read the first
time, discussed, and placed on record.
On the 10th day of September 2014, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council,
Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson Upton introduced Ordinance No. 2014-361, and moved
that it be given its second reading. The motion was seconded by Councilperson
Petersen
Ayes:. Kahler, Ryan, Petersen,Bartels, Upton
Nays: NONE
Five members of the Council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Steve
Berner declared the motion carried, and Ordinance No. 2014-361,was,read the
second time and discussed and placed on record.
On the 24th day of September 2014, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council,
Tiffin, Iowa, Councilperson'Ryan introduced Ordinance No. 2014-361, and moved
that it be given its third and last reading. The motion was seconded by Councilperson
Kahler.
Ayes: Kahler, Ryan, Petersen, Upton, Bartels
Nays: NONE
Five members of the Council being present and having voted "Aye", Mayor Steve
Berner declared the motion carried, and the ordinance was passed and adopted.
Whereupon the Mayor declared that Ordinance No. 2014-361 be adopted and
signified his approval of same by fixing his signature thereto. Passed by the Council
on the 24 day of September 2014 and approved by the Mayor on the 30th day of
October 2014.

I, Michon Jackson, City Administrator/Clerk of the City of Tiffin, Iowa, state that an
ordinance entitled AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
TIFFIN, IOWA, CHAPTER 70, TRAFFIC CODE ENFORCEMENT
PROCEDURES, TO CHANGE THE AMOUNT OF PARKING VIOLATION
FINES UNDER 70.03 and known as No. 2014-361 was duly passed by the Council
on the 24th day of September 2014, and signed by the Mayor on the 30th day of
October 2014, and published on the 3rd day of November 2014, by posting copies
thereof in three public places within the limits of the City of Tiffin, Iowa. That I
posted copies of Ordinance No. 2014 - 361 in the following places:
