HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 1160.~ ORDINANCE N0. 1160 follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING SECTION 32-21 (a) OF TI1E LYNINOOD CITY CODE RELATING TO WATER CHARGES The City Council of the City of Lynwcod HEREBY DOES ORDAIN as Section 1,. Section 32-21 (a) of the Code cf the City of Lynwood is amended to read as follows: "(a) Servir..e may be discontinued on all water meter_ accounts remaining unpaid fifteen (15) days after that account becomes due and payable and will be discontinued if unpaid after. forty-five (45) days; however, if there is a deposit to secure payment of water charges, water service shall be discontinued on meter accounts immediately upon the deposit being exhausted and water service shall not again be re-established until all current and arrears are paid and the re- quired deposit made. An additional charge in an amount established by resolution of the City Council for the expense of discontinuiny and re-establishing water service shall be made fcr each disconnection made by the Water Department, and a charge in an amount established by resolution of the City Council for the expense of discontinuing and re-establishing water service in each instance when it becomes necessary to discontinue and re-establish evater service as a result of a non-authorized use. In the event that the City discontinues water service pursuant to this section, and the water service is re-established with- out the payment of the fees, or without due authorization from the City, the owner or user of any such water or water service shall be presumed to have effected or authorized such unlawful re-establishment of water service until the contrary is satisfactorily established." Section 2. The City Clerk hereby is authorized and directed to cause a copy of this Ordinance to be published in the LYNWOOD PRESS, a newspaper of general circulation in the City, within fifteen (15) days after the adoption hereof. First read at a regular meeting of the City Council. of said City held on the 16th day of March , 1982, and finally adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 6th day of April , 1982, by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEN GREEN, MORRIS, ROWE, THOMPSON, BYORK NOES: NONE ABSENT: NONE , i~ G~'u ~ ATTEST: ~0 D.
