APPROVING CHANGE ORDER gl
B & W CONSTRUCTION / EMERGENCY SERVICES CONTRACT
WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the Borough of Carteret has previously
awarded a contract to B & W Construction in the amount of $102,220.00 for the
Emergency Services Contract 2004; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer for the project, T & M
Associates, has advised the Governing Body that a modification of the contract is
reasonable and necessary and has recommended that the aforesaid contract be modified in
accordance with Contract Change Order gl (See attached); and
VOtEREAS, Change Order # 1 includes a change in the description of work to
provide for certain extra and supplementary items required for the project; and
WHEREAS, Change Order # 1 provides for a net increase in the contract price in
the amount of $ 8,850.50 resulting in a revised contract price of $111,070.50; and
WltEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer, T & M Associates has advised
that the above described changes and/or modifications to the project were unforeseen at
the time of the award of the original contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Borough Council
of the Borough of Carteret as follows:
1. That the Contract Change Order #1 attached hereto and made a part
hereof, resulting in a net increase of $ 8,850.50 in the overall contract
price, resulting in a revised contract price of$ I 11,070.50 is hereby
approved.
2. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to execute
Change Order gl and process the applicable Payment Certificate based
upon the recommendation of the Borough Engineer.
3. A copy of this resolution and a fully executed copy of Change Order gl b~
forwarded to the Purchasing Department and to T&M Associates for
distribution to B & W Construction.

and certified as a true copy of the
original on July 23, 2004.
