The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on August 21, 2012 at
6:03 p.m. in the City Hall Chambers. Mayor Crosby presided.
I. ROLL CALL
Members present: Crosby, Pederson, Siitari and Martinson.
Members absent: Weir
Also present: City Planner Dusty Finke, Public Works Superintendent Steve Scherer,
Police Chief Ed Belland, Paul Kolias RJM Construction, Finance Director Joe Rigdon,
and City Administrator Scott Johnson.
II. 2013 Budget Information
Council discussed the overall debt levies, utility fees, and bond impacts. Staff provided
information on proposed wage adjustments for 2012 and proposed wages for 2013.
Council discussed the proposed 2013 CIP and asked staff to defer road projects in 2013
and look for different options for the Tuckborough project. Finance Director Joe Rigdon
reviewed the proposed 2013 Budget. Staff was directed to reduce the General Fund
Budget further before the September 4th preliminary levy is set by the City Council.
III. 600 Clydesdale Trail and Possible City Hall Renovation Project
Council reviewed the revised Option 2 for the renovation project at 600 Clydesdale Trail.
Council requested that Ehlers provide two bonding scenarios for the project. The first
scenario would only include the Public Works option. The second scenario would
include Public Works and Police relocating to the facility at 600 Clydesdale Trail. The
options will be brought before Council at the September 4th Meeting.
IV. ADJOURN
Mayor Crosby adjourned the Work Session at 6:59 p.m.
