Meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm in Riverdale Council Chambers. Heather reviewed the pertinent portions of Chapter 21 of the Riverdale Code of Ordnances. The term of office for members of the Planning and Zoning Commission is five years. The commission is to be composed of seven members. A Chairperson and Vice Chairperson are to be selected annually by the commission. Montie Gauss was elected Chairperson and Dennis Stolk was elected Vice Chairperson. The commission wants to thank Heather Wren for her many years of leadership on the commission. Heather Wren reviewed portions of an email received from Mayor Jack Franklin to the commission in which he suggested changes to the May 2012 copy of the Zoning Ordinance. The following items relate to that discussion.  Remove reference to MSA on the title page. The commission suggested moving that portion to the bottom of the page where the support of federal grant is also listed.  On page 8, Section 21-C, reference City Clerk and City Engineer instead of the building official. The commission agrees.  On page 17, Section 39-A, referenced Planning and Zoning Commission instead of Commission. The commission agrees.  On pages 26 and 27, renumber, relocate, and rename Section 44 as Section 128. The commission agrees.  Provide fee table 3-A as specified in old Section 44.I.5. Heather agreed to discuss this with Mayor Franklin. The commission agrees that the wording should be changed or a table provided but did not feel they should develop the table.  Update the zoning map the show areas zoned as C1 and C2 or alternately combine C1 and C2 into a single existing commercial zone C. The commission proposes that all current commercial areas adjacent to Highway 67 be zoned as C2 and all current commercial areas adjacent to Valley Drive be zoned as C1. Heather agreed to update the Zoning documents and discuss with Mayor Franklin. No future meetings are scheduled at this time.
