ENDORSING FY 2004 NJDOT SAFE STREETS TO SCHOOLS
CATEGORY
GRANT APPLICATION
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex
New Jersey are desirous of obtaining funding from the NJDOT Trust Fund Authority Actl
Fiscal Year 2004 Municipal Aid Program for a "Safe Streets to Schools" project; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body has authorized the Borough Engineer to recommend ~
Safe Street to Schools Project Grant Application for submittal for funding under the FYI
2004 NJDOT Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has recommended and prepared a Safe Streets to
Schools Project Application for Lower Roosevelt Avenue from Terminal Avenue to
Arthur Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body has reviewed the above described Safe Streets tc
Schools Project Application and has approved of the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borougl~
of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey that the Borough of Carterel
hereby endorses the submission of the above described FY 2004 NJDOT Safe Streets tc
Schools Category Grant Application to the New Jersey Department of Transportation an~
that the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said application.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this Resolution along with thre~
signed copies of the application be forwarded to the Borough Engineer for submission tr
the District Local Aid Office within the New Jersey Transportation.
