HomeMy Public PortalAbout2022 0428 MinutesRIVERDALE PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MINUTES PLACE: Riverdale City Hall, 110 Manor Drive, Riverdale, Iowa DATE: April 28, 2022 TIME: 7:00 p.m. NOTE: A meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission was held in -person at the appointed time and day in accordance with open meeting laws set and defined by the State of Iowa (Sections 21.2 and 21.8). 1. WELCOME The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Wendy Syverud. Commission members present: Stickler, Struve, Syverud, Townsend, Wren. Absent: None. Also present: City Administrator Kent Royster and other residents and visitors. 2. REVIEW/APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA None. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM 07/20/2021 Wren requested the meeting minutes' roll call be changed from "absent" to "present." Syverud requested the minutes be amended to add that the Woods Estates engineer was requested to change the setbacks for the lots that abut lots on Circle Drive. Motion by Wren, seconded by Townsend. All ayes. MC 4. APPOINTMENT OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR Townsend volunteered for the Vice Chair position, and Syverud volunteered for the Chair position. Motion by Wren that Syverud fill the position of Chair and Townsend fill the position of Vice Chair, seconded by Stickler. All ayes. MC 5. OPEN PUBLIC HEARING Syverud opened the public hearing. 6. REVIEW OF MINOR SKETCH PLAN The Commission reviewed the sketch plan in regard to a parcel located at 238 Belmont Road, Riverdale, Iowa. Wren requested to hear from the property owner, Casey Mohr, who explained his intentions with the property. Resident feedback was heard. The Commission agreed it was feasible to rezone from R1 to R1 -A. The Commission reviewed and agreed to the proposed schedule. 7. CLOSE PUBLIC HEARING Syverud closed the public hearing. 8.
