ORDINANCE N0. 1045
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD ADDING SECTION 32-55 TO
THE LYNWOOD CITY CODE RELATING TO WATER
CHARGES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD HEREBY DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 32-55 hereby is added to the Lynwood City
Code to read as follows: Sec. 32-55. Water Charges. In
addition to the other charges imposed pursuant to the provisions
of this Chapter a charge of $7.50 for the expense of discontinuing
and re-establishing water service shall be made for each discon-
nection and/or re-establishment by the water department, and a
charge of $25.00 for the expense of discontinuing and re-estab-
lishing water service in each instance when it becomes necessary
to do so as a result of a non-authorized use of water.
SECTION 2. If any section, subsection, subdivision, sentence,
clause, phrase, or portion of this ordinance, or the application
thereof to any person or place, is for any reason held to be
invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of com-
petent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity
of the remaining portions of this ordinance or its application
to other persons or places. The City Council hereby declares
that it would have adopted this ordinance, and each section,
subsection, subdivision, sentence, clause, phrase or portion
thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections,
subsections, subdivisions, sentences, clauses, phrases, or
portions or the application thereof to any person or place,
be declared invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk hereby is authorized and directed
to cause a copy of this ordinance to be published in the LYNWOOD
PRESS, a newspaper of general circulation in the City, within
fifteen (15) days after the adoption hereof.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said City held on the 23rd day of June' 1978, and finally
adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of said
Council held on the 29thlay of June 1978 by the following
vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEN BYORK, MORRIS, ROWE, HIGGINS.
NOES: COUNCILMEN NONE.
ABSENT: COUNCILMEN GREEN.
