AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TH1 CI'?'Y OP I,YNwOOD
AD7ENDING SECTION 19-64 OF T}IE CODE OF THE CITY OF LYNwOOll
RELATING TO SPEED LIMITS ON CERTAIN DESIGNATED STREETS.
In accordance with the provisions of Section 22357 of the Ca.litornia
Vehic]_e Code, the City Council of the City o[ Lynwood hereby
does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 19-69 of the code of the City of
Lynwood hereby is amended to read as follows:
Sec. 19-64. Increase in State Law T~taximum Speed on
Certain Designated Streets.
It is hereby determined upon the basis of an engineering
and traffic investigation that the maximum speed permitted by
state law in certain business and residential districts in the
city shall be increased to a speed limit declared to be r.easonabl.e
and safe and which will be conducive ~to the orderly movement of
vehicular traffic under the conditions Found to exist upon such
streets, and it is hereby dec].ar.ed that the prima facie speed
limit shall be as herein set forth on those streets herein desig-
nated when signs are erected giving notice thereof:

SECTION 2 Severability
If any section, subsection, subdivision, sentence,
clause, phrase, or portion of this ordinance, or the application
thereof. to any person or place, is for any reason held to be
invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of compe-
tent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of
the remaining portions of this ordinance or its application to
other persons or places. The City Council. hereby declares that_
it would have adopted this ordinance, and each section, subsection,
subdivision, sentence, clause, phrase or. portion thereof, irres-
pective of the Pact that any one or. more sections, subsections,
subdivisions, sentences, clauses, phrases, or portions, or. Y_he
application thereof to any person or place, hn declared invalid
or unconstitutional.
