ORDINANCE N0. 1073
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD ADDING SUBSECTION (d) TO SECTION
2-58 OF THE-LYNWOOD CITY CODE RELATING TO
PURCHASING

The City Council of the .City of Lynwood hereby does ordain
as follows:
SECTION. 1. Subsection (d) hereby is added to Section 2-58
of the Lynwood City Code to read as follows:
(d) Any provision of this Article to the contrary
notwithstanding, purchases of supplies and
equipment may be made without compliance with
the bid procedures set forth herein if the
City Council shall find, by resolution adopted
by not less than four-fifths of its members;
and that such a purchase may be more economically
and efficiently effected through the use of
an alternative procedure.
SECTION 2. Severability. If any section, subsection,
subdivision, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this
Ordinance, or the application thereof to any person or place,
is £or any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by
the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such
decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining por-
tions of this Ordinance or its application. to other persons
or places... The City Council hereby declares that it would have
adopted this Ordinance,. and each section, subsection, sub-
division, sentence, clause; phrase or portion thereof, irre-
spective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections,
subdivisions; sentence s_, clauses; phrases, or portions, or the
application thereof to any person or place, be declared invalid
or unconstitutional.
SECTION. 3. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed
to certify to the passage of this Ordinance and to cause the
same to be published once in .the Lynwood Press, a newspaper
of general circulation, printed, published and circulated in the
City of Lynwood.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council o.f
said City held on the 17th day of- July 1979, and
finally ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council
held on the 7th day of August 1979.

NOES: COUNCILMEN NONE.
