HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 1082:~ ~~ ORDINANCE NO. 1082 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OF THE LYNWOOD CITY CODE RE- LATING TO COMPENSATION FOR MEMBERS OF BOARD APdD COMMISSIOP7S The City Council of the City of Lynwood HEREBY DOES ORDAIN as follows: SECTIOLd 1. Section 2-11 hereby is added to the Code of the City of Lynwood to read as follows: Sec. 2-11. Compensation for Boards and Commissions. Any provision of this Code to the contrary not- withstanding, members of City boards and commissions shall be entitled to receive such compensation and re- imbursement for expenses as the City Council may from time to time provide. SECTION 2. Section 9-1/2-5 of the Lynwood City Code hereby is amended to read as follows: Sec. 9-1/2-5. Compensation of Members. Members of the commission may be compensated in such amounts as the City Council may from time to time determine and, in addition thereto, may be reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in connection with the official business of the commission to the extent auth- orized by the City Council. SECTION 3. Section 19-26 of the Lynwood City Code hereby is amended to cause the first sentence of such section to read as follows: There is hereby established an advisory traffic and parking commission consisting of five members who shall serve with such compensation as the City Council may from time to time provide and who may be reim- bursed for actual expenses incurred in connection with the official business of the commission to the extent authorized by the City Council. SECTION 4. Section 23-45 of the Lynwood City Code hereby is amended to read as follows: Sec. 23-45. Compensation of Members. Members of the commission may be compensated in such amounts as the City Council may from time to time determine and, in addition thereto, may be reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in connection with the official business of the commission to the extent auth- orized by the City Council. 6~• SECTION 5. Section 25-24 of the Lynwood City Code hereby is amended to cause the first sentence thereof to read as follows: All members of the Planning Commission shall serve with such compensation as the City Council may from time to time provide and may be reimbursed for actual expenses incurred in connection with the official business of the commission to the extent authorized by the City Council. SECTION 6. Severability. If any section, subsection, subdivision, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this Ordinance, or the application thereof to any person or place, is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining por- tions of this Ordinance or its application to other persons or places. The City Council hereby declares that it would have adopted this Ordinance, and each section, subsection, subdivision, sentence, clause, phrase or portion thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, sub- sections, subdivisions, sentences, clauses, phrases, or portions, or the application thereof to any person or place, be declared invalid or unconstitutional. SECTIOPd 7. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to be published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published and cir- culated in the City of Lynwood. First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on the 6th day of NosTet~ber 1979, and finally ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 20th day of November , 1979.
