Police Personnel Board
Minutes---May 17, 2018
The meeting was called to order at 12:04pm.
Seven persons attended as follows:

Approval of April 5, 2018 minutes
It was moved by Derks and seconded by Lehman that the minutes of the April 5,
2018 meeting be approved. The motion carried unanimously.
Old Business
Property Room Technician – Lt Stiefermann advised that Kandie Mooneyham,
who started work of March 28, 2018, was now in Nashville, TN attending a
training session for property room technicians.
New Business
Lt. Stiefermann announced that one of the record clerks had passed away, that the
opening had been announced and that so far 47 applications have been received.
Lt. Stiefermann further advised that the hiring process for the Communications
Operator position, vacant following the retirement of Kathy Abernathy, is
continuing.

Lt. Stiefermann stated that following the recent opening of applications for
Communications Officer 10 persons took the exam on Wednesday, May 9, 2018
and all 10 passed.
Lt. Stiefermann stated that following the recent opening of applications for Police
Officer there were 60 applications, 15 tested on Friday, May 11, 2018 with 8
passing; 10 tested on Saturday, May 12, 2018 with 7 passing and 1 tested on
Tuesday, May 15, 2018 and that person did not pass.
Begin Closed Session (see closed session minutes for details)
A motion was made by Scruggs and seconded by Klindt at 12:14pm for the Police
Personnel Board to go into closed session pursuant to RsMO. 610 -021. Motion
passed. Roll call was taken as follows:
Backues – yes Burton – yes Derks – yes Klindt – yes
Lehman – yes Scruggs – yes
End Closed Session
A motion was made by Derks and seconded by Lehman at 1:04pm for the Police
Personnel Board to come out of closed session. Motion passed. Roll call was taken
as follows:
Backues – yes Burton – yes Derks – yes Klindt – yes
Lehman – yes Scruggs – yes
Next Meeting – June 7, 2018
It was moved by Derks and seconded by Backues that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion passed and meeting adjourned at 1:05pm.
