A RESOLUTION SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING TO REDUCE
THE SPEED LIMIT ON PARK ROAD
Whereas, The City recognizes that once Park Road is paved the traffic has been
increasing speeds and, for safety, it needs to be lowered to 35 MPH and,
Whereas the City Council of the City of Tiffin recognizes that that once the new Tiffin
Elementary School is open in 2015 that stretch of school zone speed limit will be further
reduced'to the acceptable school zone speed limit;
Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Tiffin, Iowa to approve
setting a public hearing on August 13, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. to reduce`the speed limit.on
Park Road.
On the 23rd day of July, at a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Council, Tiffin, Iowa,
Councilperson Upton introduced Resolution No. 2014-103, A RESOLUTION SETTING
A PUBLIC HEARING TO REDUCE THE SPEED LIMIT ON PARK ROAD and made a
motion for approval.- Motion seconded by Councilperson Petersen.
Ayes: Kahler, Petersen, Bartels, Upton
Nays: none.
Absent: Ryan.
Whereupon four Council members were present and voted approval and Mayor Berner
declared that the Resolution No. 2014-103, A RESOLUTION SETTING A PUBLIC
HEARING TO REDUCE THE SPEED LIMIT ON PARK ROAD to be adopted and
signified his approval of the same by affixing his signature thereto.
Passed by the City Council on the 23rd day of July, 2014.
