HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 1021 ORDINANCE NO 1021 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING SECTION 19-73 (b) TO PROHIBIT STANDING AND PARKING OF VEHICLES OVER THREE TON GROSS WEIGHT ON STREETS WHERE SUCH VEHICLES ARE RESTRICTED. The City Council of the City of Lynwood hereby does ordain as follows SECTION 1. Section 19m73 Subsection (b) of the Code of the City of Lynwood hereby is amended to read as follows: (b) When any truck traffic route is established pursuant to subsection (a) and designated by appropriate signs, the operator of any vehicle exceeding a maximum gross weight limit of three (3) tons shall drive, stand or park on such routes and none other; however, nothing in this section shall prohibit the operator of any vehicle exceeding a maximum gross weight of three (3) tons coming from a °1 truck traffic route°1 from having ingress and egress by direct route to and from restricted streets when necessary for the purpose of making pickups or deliver- ies of goods, wares and merchandise from or to any building or structure located on such restricted streets of for the purpose of delivering materials to be used in actual and bona fide repair, alteration, remodeling or construction of any building or structure upon such restricted streets for which a building permit has previously been obtained therefor. The provisions of this section shall not apply to passenger buses under the jurisdiction of the public utilities conunission, or to any vehicle owned by a utility service while necessarily in use in the construction, installation or repair of any utility, (Code 1961, 22.33) SECTION 2. Severs ability s If any section, subsection, subdivision, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this ordinance, or the application thereof to any person or place, is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent juris- diction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remain- ing portion of this ordinance or its application to other persons or places. The City Council hereby declares that it would have adopted this ordinance, and each section, subsection, subdivision, sentence, clause, phrase or portion thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, subdivisions, sentences, clauses, phrases, or portions, or the application thereof to any person or place, be declared invalid or unconstitutional, First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on the lst day of November, 1977, and finally adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of the Council held on the 15th day of __ November ~~ 1977 AYES: COUNCILMEN BYORK, GREEN, HIGGINS, MORRIS, ROWS. .NOES: COUNCILMEN: NONE.
