AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD AMENDING SECTION 2-58 OF THE LYNWOOD CITY
CODE RELATING TO COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR GARBAGE
COLLECTION CpNTRACTS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD HEREBY DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section (c) hereby is added to Section
2-58 to the Lynwood City Code to read as follows:
(c) Anything contained in the section to the contrary
notwithstanding, no formal competitive bid need be required in
connection with the contract for garbage collection throughout
the City.
Section 2. Severability. If any section, subsection,
subdivision, sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this
ordinance, or the application thereof to any person or place,
is for any reason held to be unconstitutional by the decision
of any court of competent ~urisdiction, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portions of this ordinance
or its application to other persons or places. The City Coun-
cil hereby declares that it would have adopted this ordinance,
and each section, subsection, subdivision, sentence, clause,
phrase or portion thereof, irrespective of the fact that any
one or more sections, subsections, subdivisions, sentences,
clauses, phrases, or portions of the application thereof to
any person or place, be declared invalid or unconstitutional.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council
of said City held on the 16th day of May, 1978, and finally
adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of said
Council held on the 6th day of Jure, 197~, by the following
vote:
Ayes: COUNCILM~N BYORK, GREEN, MORRIS, ROWE, HIGGINS.
Noes: COUNCILMEN NONE
Absent: COUNCILMEN NONE.
