ORDINANCE N0. 97$
AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LYNWOOD EXTENDING THE TERM OF
ORDINANCE N0. 954 FOR AN ADDITIONAL PERIOD OF
ONE YEAR.
The City Council of the City of Lynwood does ordain
as follows:
Section 1. Extension of term.
Section 4 of the Ordinance No. 954, adopted as an urgency
ordinance of the City Council of the City of Lynwood, providing
that said ordinance, as amended, shall be effective for a period
of eight months after the date of adoption of Ordinance No. 962,
sub,~ect to extension under the terms of Government Code Section
65858~ is hereby amended to read as follows:
"This is an urgency ordinance and shall take effect
immediately and shall be effective for a period of one year after
the date of adoption of Ordinance No. , extending the term of
this ordinance under the provisions of Government Code Section 65858."
Section 2. Effective date.
This ordinance is required For the immediate preservation
of public peace, health and safety of the residents of the City
of Lynwood and is to take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 3• Declaration of Facts Constituting the
Urgency.
The City Council hereby declares that the following facts
constitute the urgency requiring this ordinance to take effect
immediately.
At the present time, the City Council, Planning
Commission and Planning Department of the City of Lynwood are
continuing their study with respect to the zoning proposal regarding
regulating the construction of buildings upon and use of any lot
described in Section 3 of Ordinance No. 954. Before said study

could be completed, Ordinance No. 95~ would otherwise expire.
Thus, the provisions of this ordinance are necessary to prevent
uses which may be in conflict with the zoning proposal under
consideration,
Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed
to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same
to be published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed and published in the City of Lynwood.
First read, finally adopted and ordered published at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Lynwood held
on the 3rd day of September, 1974, by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen B.york, Green, Liewer, Morris, Rowe
Noes: Councilmen None
Absent: Councilmen None .
