ORDINANCE NO. 970
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LYNWOOD AMENDING SECTION 4. 00 OF ORDINANCE
NO. 570 TO ALLOW CHURCHES AND iJSES INCIDENTAL
THERETO UPON APPROVAL OF A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT.
The City Council of the City of Lynwood does ordain as follows:
Section 1. Any provision of the Lynwood City Code and/or the
Lynwood Zoning Ordinance to the contrary notwithstanding, Ordinance
No. 570 shall be amended to permit churches and uses incidental thereto
in the R-1 single family residential zone.
Section 2. Section 4. 00 of Ordinance 570 shall be amended by
adding subparagraph as foilows:
7. Churches and uses incidental thereto shall be permitted,
provided however that a Conditional Use Permit shall have
first been obtained. Site development for such uses shall
be as set forth in the Conditional Use Permit.
Section 3. Any existing structure in the R-1 zone which is not
being used as a church on the effective date of this ordinance shall be
required to comply with the provisions set forth in Ordinance No. 570,
Section 4.00, subparagraph 7.
Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to
certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to be
published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published, and circulated in the City of Lynwood.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
held on the 6th day of August, 1974, and finally adopted and ordered
published at a regular meeting of said Council on the 20th day of August, 1974
by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Green, Liewer Morris Rowe
Noes: Councilmen None
Absent: Councilmen None
