ORDINANCE No. 982
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD ADOPTING
BY REFERENCE, PURSUANT TO SECTION 50022.2 OF
THE GOVERNMENT CODE, ORDINANCE N0. 4~29, OF THE
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, AS AMENDED, PROVIDING FOR
THE DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL CONTROL, AND FOR
THE LICENSING, IMPOUNDING, AND REGULATING THE
KEEPING, SALE AND EXHIBITION OF ANIMALS IN THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD AND AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE.
The City Council of the City of Lynwood does
hereby ordain as follows:
Section 1. There is hereby adopted as the
ordinance regulating the licensing, impounding and keeping, sale
and exhibition of animals in the City of Lynwood except as
hereinafter amended, Ordinance No. 4729 of the County of Los
Angeles, as amended, as in full force and effect on February 6,
1975, entitled "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF
ANIMAL CONTROL, AND FOR THE LICENSING, IMPOUNDING, AND REGULATING
THE KEEPING, SALE AND EXHIBITION OF ANIMALS."
Section 2. Three copies of said Ordinance No. 4729
as amended, of the County o£ Los Angeles, have been deposited
with the City Clerk of the City of Lynwood and shall be at all
times maintained by said City Clerk for use and examination by
the public.
Section 3. Whenever in the said Ordinance No. 4729
reference is made to the unincorporated area of the County of
Los Angeles, such area shall be deemed to include in its true
geographical location the entire area of the City of Lynwood.
Whenever any of the following names or terms are used in the said
Ordinance No.4729, each such name or term shall be deemed and
construed to have the meaning ascribed to it in this section
as follows:
"County of Los Angeles" shall mean the City of
Lynwood, except in such instances where the
County o£ Los Angeles is a correct notation
due to circumstances.
Section 4. Whoever violates any provision of
Ordinance No. 4729 shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and if
convicted, fined a sum not in excess of $500 or imprisoned for
a period of time not in excess of six (6) months. Each separate
day constitutes a separate violation under this ordinance.
Section 5. Immediately after introduction of this
ordinance, the Clerk shall give notice as required by law advising
that a public hearing will be held before the City Council on the
7th day of January, 1975, relative to the adoption by reference
of this ordinance.
Section 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this ordinance and cause the same to be published once in the
Lynwood Press, a newspaper printed, published, and circulated
in the City of Lynwood.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said City held on the 3rd day of December, 197~, and finally
adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council
held on the 7th day of January, 1975, by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Green, Liewer, Morris, Rowe.
Noes: Councilmen: None.
Absent: Councilmen: None.
