AN ORDINANCF, OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT
TO THE CONTFiACT BETWEEN THE CITY COUNCIL
AND THE BOAF;D OF ADMINISTRATIODI OF THE
CALIFORNIA YUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT
SYSTEM.
The City Council of the City o£ Lynwood does ordain
as follows:
Section l. That an amendment to the Contract
between the City Council of the City o£ Lynwood and the
Board of Administration, California Public Employees'Retirement
Uystem is hereby authorized, a copy of said amendment being
attached hereto, marked "Exhibit A," and by such reference
made a part hereof as though herein set out in full.
Section 2. The Mayor of the City Council is hereby
authorized, empowered, and directed to execute said amendment
for and on behal£ of said Agency.
Section 3• This ordinance shall take effect 30
days after the date of its adoption, and prior to the expiration
of 15 days from the passage thereof shall be published at least
once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circulation,
published and circulated in the City of Lynwood and thenceforth
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council
of said City held on the 6th day of May, 1975, and finally
adopted and ordered pu.blished at a regular meeting of said Council

held on the 20th day of May, 1975, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen Byork Green Liewer, _____ Rowe.
NOES: Councilmen None
ABSENT: Councilmen Morris

The Board of Administration, Public Em~loyees' Retiremant System, hereinafter
referred to as Board and the CIT: COIINCIL o£ the CIT1 OF LYNWCOD, hereinafter re-
ferred to as Public Agency, having entered into a contract under date of 14ay 7, 1946,
effective July 1, 1946, as amended effective November 1, 1951, February 1, 1954,
August 1, 1959, December 1, 1964, November 13, 1966 and January 1, 1975, ~d as
provided by Chapters 1'70 ana 316, Statutes of 19'71, which provide for participation
of Public Agency, hereby agree as follows: _
p. The following subparagraph shall be added to Paragraph 5 of said
contract: ~
5(e).' Section 20024.2 ~defining "£inal compensation" for local policemen
on the basis of average conpensation earnable during the year
immediately preceding retirement or any other one year period
elected by the member).
B. Paragraph 6~b) shall be stricken from said contract and the following
paragraph substituted therefor:
- b. With respect to local safety m._mbers, the public agency shall con-
tribute the following percentages of monthly salaries earned as
loaal sa£ety members of said System:
(1,) 28.186 percent on account o£ the liability £or current service
benefits.
(2) 0.112 percent on account of the liability for the 1959 Sur-
vivors program.
,(3) 0.400 percent until Uecember 31, h9~+ on account of the
. benefits provided under Section 21222.1 of the Government Code.
C. This amendment shall be attached to said contract and shall be effective
on the day of
