AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
ADDING SUB-SECTION (e) TO SECTION 3-32 OF THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD RELATING TO REAL ESTATE ADVERTISING SIGNS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD HEREBY ORDAINS
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Sub-Section (e) hereby is added to Section
3-32 o~the City Code of the City of Lynwood to read as follows:
(e) Whenever the Code Enforcement Officer, or any person
designated by the City Manager to act in the place of said
officer, determines that a sign, rider, or flag is placed or
maintained in a manner not permitted by Sub-Section (c) hereof,
he sha11 immediately attempt to personally notify the property
owner of the property on which the same is relocated or the
agent of said property owner. If the Code Enforcement Officer
is able to contact said owner or agent, he sha11 request the
owner or agent to immediately correct the violation. If the
Code Enforcement Officer is unable to immediately contact the
property owner or agent, or if the property owner or agent re-
fuses to correct the violation, the Code Enforcement Officer
shall document the violation by photograph or other appropriate
means and sha11 remove the sign, rider, or flag which gives
rise to the violation. Said sign, rider, or flag shall be
brought to an appropriate location on City property and stored
for the benefit of its owner. The Code Enforcement Officer shall
give mailed notice to the property owner and/or his agent advising
him that the sign, rider, or flag is being stored by the City and
can be picked up during normal business hours within 30 days of
the letter. After the expiration of said 30 days the sign, rider,
or flag nay be destroyed or other wise disposed of.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to .-
certi y to t e passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to
be published once in the Lynwood Press a newspaper of general
circulation printed and circulated in the City of Lynwood.
