AN tiRGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING THE
ZONdNG ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
PROHIBdTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF BILLBOARDS
WITH3N ANY Z01VE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD.
THE CITY COUNCdL OF THE CI'rY OF LYNWOOD HEREBY DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION lo
Any provisior. of the Lynwood City Code and/or the Lynwood Zoning Ordinance
to the contrary notwithstanding, no bbIllboard of an,y kind shall be constructed
in any zaning district within the Cit.y,
SECTION 2,
Any billboard, rhe co~stru~,tion of which ha~ been commenced on or before the
effective date of this ordinance, sha3Y be allowed to be completed and operated
as if this ordananc~ had not been adopt~d,
SECTION 3.
This is an urgency cr~inance and shaP3 take effect immediately and shall be
effective for a period of fonr months, subject to ~extention pursuant to Government
Code Section 6585~. The facts constituting the urgency are that the City Council,
Planning Commission, and the Planning Department are studying and intend to
study within a r~asoraable time a zoning proposal regulating the location and
construction of billbo~rds. The pubiic health, safety and welfare of the citizens
of Lynwood require that the provisions of thi~ ordinance take effect immediately
in order to preverat u~es yvhich may be in canflict with the aforesaid proposal.
SECTION 4m
The City Clerk is ha_reby ordered and dbrecte~d to certify to the passage of this
ordinance and to cau~~ the sarrie to b~ gublished once in the Lynwood Press,
a newspaper of gera~~~b circuflatioxa, printed, pub?ished, and circulated in the
City of Lynwood.
First read at a rsgular mee4ing o$ the Cnty Cour.cil of said City held on the
15th day of May, 19"3 and adop4~d and ordered published at a regular meeting
of said Couracil h~1c3 oa; the 154h day of May, 1973 by the following vote:
