ORDINAPiC;E NO. 932
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DECLARING THE NECESSITY FOR A REDEVELOPMENT
AGENCY TO FUNCTION IN SAID CITY
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 33100 of the Health and Safety Code of
the 5tate of California, there is in the City of Lynwood a public body, corporate
and politic, known as the Redevelopment Agency of the community; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 33101 of the Health and Safety Code of
the State of California, said Redevelopment Agency is not permitted to transact
any business or exercise any powers unless the City Council of the City of
Lynwood by ordinance declares that there is a need for said agency to function
in the community; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood has found that there
exist within said City blighted areas, which are characterized by one or more
of the conditions set forth in Sections 33031 to 33034 inclusive, of the Health
and Safety Code of the State of California and which may require redevelopment in
the interest of health, safety, and general welfare of the people of said city.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
HEREBY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: There is a need for a Redevelopment Agency to function in
this community, and such agency hereby is permitted to transact any business
and to exercise any powers conferred thereon by the provisions of the Community
Redevelopment Law (Part 1, commencing with Section 33000, of Division 24 of
the Health and Safety Code of the Statc of California).
SECTION 2: Pursuant to Section 33200 of the Health and Safety Code of
the State of California, the City Councxl of the City of Lynwood hereby is declared
to be the Redevelopment Agency, and all the rights, powers, duties, privileges and
immunities which are vested by the Community Redevelopment Law in such an
agency shall be vested in sald City Council, except as otherwise provided by the
Community Redevelopment Law.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk is authorized and directed to file a certified
copy of this ordinance in the office of the Secretary of State.
SECTION 4: The CityClerk is hereby ordered and directed to certify to the
passage of this ordinance and to cause same to be published once in the Lynwood
Press, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published, and circulated
in the City of Lynwood.
First, read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on the 12 day
of Niarch , 1973, and adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of
said Council held on the 20 day of March , 1973, by the following vote:
