ORDINANCE No. 928 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING SECTIONS 17.57(44) AND 17.57(45[a]) OF THE LYNWOOD CITY CODE, PERTAINING TO THE LICENSING OF CERTAIN VENDING MACHINES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD HEREBY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 17.57(44) o£ the Lynwood City Code is amended to read as follows: Sec. 17.57(44) Vending Machines. The owner, lessee or person in charge of a coin- operated vending machine which dispenses tangible personal property shall pay an annual license fee equal to 3 ~ of the aggregate gross receipts derived by such individual or firm from the operation of such machine within the city during the year for which the license is valid. Such license fee shall be paid within forty-five days following the close of the calendar year for which the license was secured. There shall be submitted with the license fee a verified copy of the State Sales and Use Tax Returns filed relative to such machine. The City Clerk, as License Collector of the city, shall require the posting of a cash deposit, bond, or other appropriate security in the amount of $ 3~00 for such machine upon the initial issuance of a li- c se for a coin-operated vending machine to be licensed under this subsection, as security for the payment of the license fee provided herein. SECTION 2. Section 17.57(45[a]) of the Lynwood City Code is amended to read as follows: Sec. 17.57(45[a]) Washing Machines, Dryers, etc. for the Use of Tenants. The owner, lessee or person in charge of a coin- operated washing machine, dryer, or other home appliance placed in an apartment building, motel, hotel, or mobile- home park for the use of the tenants thereof shall pay an annual license fee equal to 3 ~ of the aggregate gross receipts derived y suc in ividual or £irm from the operation of such machine within the city during the year for which the license is valid. Such license fee shall be paid within forty-five days following the close of the calendar year for which the license was secured. There shall be submitted with the license fee a verified copy of the State Sales and Use Tax Returns filed relative to such machine. The City Clerk, as License Collector of the city, shall require the posting of a cash deposit, bond, or other appropriate form of security in the amount of $ 3•00 £or such machine upon the initial issuance of a license for any machine required to be licensed under this sub- section, as security for the payment of the license fee provided herein. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect on January l, 1973. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause the same to be published in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper printed, published and circulated in the City of Lynwood. First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on the 21st day of November , 1972, and adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 5th day of December , 1972, by the following vote: Ayes - Councilmen Liewer, Morris, Rowe, Stevens Noes - Councilmen None.
