Approval of Minutes of October 14 was deferred to the December meeting.
Coordinator's Report:
FY16 budget requests have been submitted to the towns.So far there have been no further
comments or questions.
Attended a site visit at 498 Shore Road regarding an appeal of the Conservation Commission's
granting of an order of conditions for a revetment. A letter of comment was submitted to DEP in
support of the appeal on the grounds that the project does not meet performance standards.
MassDEP has announced that all regulations required for improvement dredging have been
promulgated.
A draft comment letter on the draft 208 plan update was circulated and discussed.The letter
incorporates comments developed over two meetings of the watershed work group,including
comments provided by Mike Giggey of Wright Pierce. Comments on the draft letter are requested
by November 17th. Comments must be submitted to the Commission by November 20th.
A scope of work to update the statistical analysis of water quality data has been developed and a
request for quotations will be issued later this week. Cadmus Group has been contacted regarding
the project. The RFQ calls for the analysis to be completed by March 30th. Chris asked whether the
2014 data could be provided by this timeframe.The plan is to have a proposal to bring to the
Steering Committee for funding at the next meeting.
An update on the Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies and Friends of Pleasant Bay fisheries
study was discussed in brief and further discussion was differed until the December meeting with
more members present.
Roz Coleman of Pleasant Bay Community Boating requested that the Alliance consider play a role of
property manager for a parcel that would be shared by the four towns. Carole will get more details
on the project and the request of the Alliance for discussion at the December meeting.
Fertilizer management regulations are expected to be approved by the Chatham Board of Health
before December 1,which is the deadline under the Cape Cod Commission fertilizer DCPC. The
draft regulations were circulated to the Steering Committee via email.
