2 AN INTERIM ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF
3 ORDINANCE N0. 887 TO REQUIRE ANY PERSON MOVING
4 A BUILDING LOCATED IN THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AND
5 TO BE RELOCATED OUTSIDE THE CITY TO OBTAIN A
6 HOUSEMOVER'S PERMIT FROM THE BUILDING OFFICIAL
7 OR BUILDING INSPECTOR.
8 The City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby
9 ordain as follows:
10 Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 887 is temporaril
11 amended as follows:
12 "No person shall move any building or structure, or any
13 portion thereof which is to be relocated outside the City of
14 Lynwood, along or across any street without a written permit there
15 for from the building official or building inspector. Such permit
16 shall be known as a"housemover's permit." The building official
17 or the building inspector of the City of Lynwood is prohibited
18 from issuing or giving permission to any person to move any
19 building or structure, or any portion thereof which is to be
20 relocated in a residential zone in the City of Lynwood."
21 Section 2. The City Council pursuant to the provisions
22 of Section 65858 of the Government Code deems that it is necessary
23 for the immediate preservation of the public safety, health and
24 welfare that this ordinance go into immediate ef£ect £or the
25 following reasons:
26 Section 2 of Ordinance 887 as adopted by the City
27 Council on March 16, 1971, was too sweeping in that it prohibits
28 the building official or building inspector from issuing or giving
29 permission to any person to move any building or structure, or any
30 portion thereof, over, upon, along or across any street highway
31 or alley which is located in a residential zone in the City of
32 Lynwood. This includes a building or structure; or portion thereo

1 to be moved and relocated outside the City of Lynwood which
2 clearly was not the intention of the City Council.
3 The City Council pursuant to Section 65858 of the
4 Government Code adopts this temporary interim ordinance amending
5 Section 2 of temporary interim Ordinance No. 887.
6 Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and
7 directed to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to
$ cause the same to be published once in the Lynwood Press, a
9 newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the
10 City of Lynwood.
11 First read and finally adopted and ordered published
12 at a regular meeting of the City Council o£ the City of Lynwood
13 held on the 6th day of April, 1971, by the following vote:
14 Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Green, Liewer, Siokos, StevPns
15 Noes: None
16 Absent: None
