HomeMy Public PortalAbout1962-01-03 Special Meeting120 CbUNC1L MINUTES January 3, 1962 A special meeting of the Sal ,arbour Village Council was held Wednesday, January 3, 1962 at 10 A.M. at the 'Village Hall. .resent: Mt ssrs. ueet.ty, Faulkner, Hart and Absent: Mr. Broeman :kite. Also present were W. H. Webb, Village .Tanager; Glary T. Wetterer, Village Clerk; Art L.ippack, Village Engineer. Mr. Webb advisee the Ccun:il that the meeting had been celled for the purpose ef opening bids for the proposed work to be done abutting Tracts C - D - E cf the Oceanfront Addition to Bal. Harbour. The bids were opened and submittea as follows: Brooks laving Company 11,081.89 Capel.etti Bros. 9,333.80 Curcie Bros., Inc, 9,719.54 Intercounty Construction Co. 9,404.74 L. C. Morris, Inc. 9,104.65 Troupe Bros. 11,750.55 Williams paving Co., Inc. 10,922.05 After discussion Mr. Hart moved to accept the low bid of L. C. Morrie, Inc. of $9,104.65 for contract 62-1 subject to an adjust- ment in price due to State Road Department requirements. Mr. Faulkner seconded the motion and it was unanimously vot,c:. M:r. Iippack advised the Council that due to the objection by the State Road Department to the type catch basins he had designed, the figure submitted by L. C. Morris, Inc, would have to be altered to cover the cost of the required catch basins. Mr. Sol Taplin appeared before the Council and after dis- cussion of the proposed p/ans prepared by Zurwelle-Whittaker, Inc. for extending a 5 ft. sidewalk from the existing walk at the north end of the Carlton Terrace property northward to the county easement on the north end of Trait E and extending curb and gutter and paving from the existing curb, gutter and paving northward to include a new turn -around opposite the two ecrvice drives of Barbour House, Mr. Taplie agreed to pay two -thins of the cost cf the work dc,ce under Contract 62-1.
