The Leesburg Airshow will also kick off a year-long calendar of events to celebrate the Leesburg
Executive Airport’s 50th Anniversary. The Leesburg Executive Airport was dedicated in 1964 and
has seen significant growth over the years. The Town will celebrate the Airport’s 50th
Anniversary throughout the upcoming year by hosting a series of aviation educational events, a
vintage plane “fly-in”, and several forums to discuss the airport’s lauded history. A banquet is
planned in early 2015 to recognize some of Leesburg’s most prominent citizens who have
contributed so much to our local and national aviation history.
