HomeMy Public PortalAbout2018-06-19 minutesMinutes Animal Shelter Advisory Committee Meeting Wednesday, June 19, 2018 Members Present: Dr. Greg Popp, Chair Captain Eric Wilde Dr. Jim Crago, Vice Chair Karen Jennings Dr. Greg Boyer, Committee Member Dr. Jessica Thiele Chief Roger Schroeder The Animal Shelter Committee met for a regularly scheduled meeting on June 19, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. in the Conference Room, Jefferson City Animal Shelter, 2308 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City Missouri. The meeting was called to order by Dr. Popp, Chair. Roll call was taken. Dr. Boyer and Dr. Crago were present. Approval of Minutes Dr. Boyer moved to approve the minutes from March 21, 2018 meeting and Dr. Crago seconded. Staff Reports Captain Wilde thanked the committee for assisting the Shelter during his absence. He was asking about the Cremation fees and if we needed to raise them. Dr. Boyer explained the fees were to cover the cost and if it is time to raise them for the operation, then we need to know those numbers. Karen Jennings has asked the company for the numbers and have not received that info yet. Dr. Thiele discussed her training at the EXPO, CE, and her certification. She talked about the Foster program having a manual and the google number for questions. Panleuk was seen in 2 litters and 1 suspected kitten. Karen Jennings discussed the Dog in Vehicle ordinance and the calls have increased. The budget was still in a process. Review Written Correspondence No written correspondence. Old Business The Community Cat Ordinance has been drafted and the Committee made a few adjustments. It will be presented to the next Public Safety Committee. New Business The term limits will be up in September of 2018. Captain Wilde is supposed to draft an ordinance changing some of the requirements for members. Dr. Boyer brought up the building modifications. The plastic cages, portalized cages, and a plan to renovate/expanded was discussed. Adjournment Meeting adjourned at 1:28 pm.
