Pat McCutchen The Animal Shelter Committee met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 12:35 p.m. in the Conference Room, Jefferson City Animal Shelter, 2308 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City Missouri. The meeting was called to order by Dr. Popp, Chair. Roll call was taken. Dr. Boyer and Dr. Crago were present. Approval of Minutes Dr. Crago moved to approve the minutes from December 12, 2017 meeting and Dr. Boyer seconded. Staff Reports Lt. McCutchen talked about the security of the shelter. Recently 6 cameras had been installed and are working, but we still working out some glitches on the recording of the video. Captain Wilde was reported to be back in the United States, but won’t report back to duty at the Police Department until the end of April. Karen Jennings reported the numbers are average for this time of the year, but kittens are coming soon. Review Written Correspondence No written correspondence. Old Business The Community Cat Ordinance has been drafted and the Committee made a few adjustments. It will be presented to the next Public Safety Committee. New Business Lt. McCutchen had been asked about Rabies and the requirements according to the code. It was explained if there is a written, medical reason from a veterinarian that jeopardizes the health of an animal to get vaccinated, then they are exempt from the Code. The exemption does not apply to just sick or elderly pets, it has to be a written medical exemption. Adjournment Meeting adjourned at 1:25 pm. Dr. Boyer moved and Dr. Crago seconded.
