PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the City of Riverdale is the home of the Pleasant Valley High School and Pleasant Valley
School District administrative offices.
WHEREAS, on June 4th, 2022, the Pleasant Valley Spartans Boys' Soccer Team won the state 3A title
against the Waukee Northwest Wolves.
WHEREAS, the Spartans went 19-1 in the 2022 season, with their only loss having come at the hands of
the Wolves earlier in the season.
WHEREAS, the Spartans who never qualified for a state tournament before 2021, are now back to back
state champions, a perfect 6-0 in championship play, did not allow a goal in any of those 6 games, and
only allowed 6 goals all season long, a tremendous feat.
THEREFORE, be it resolved that I, Anthony Heddlesten, Mayor of the City of Riverdale, Iowa, do hereby
proclaim that June 4th as
SPARTAN SOCCER DAY
In Riverdale, and encourage all staff, residents, and visitors to celebrate our hometown team and join
me in congratulating them and their coaches on a spectacular season and thank them for representing
our community so well across the state.
