MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY 3/11/14 8:00 PM
In attendance: Laura Connolly, Margo Roman, Jean Gokey, Aubrey Doyle
AGENDA
1. Call to Order
2. Acceptance of Minutes
a. 2.25.14 – Laura, Aubrey approved. Jean and Margo were not at last meeting so
they abstained.
3. Green Up day planning & check list
a. Green-Up Day – April 12, 8 AM at Common
i. Malcolm Page from Lake Maspenock Preservation Association would like
to join up with us on same day. They have ~150 people.
ii. Schools will distribute fliers – expect to get some folks to participate. Will
also reach out to Middle and Elementary Schools.
iii. Christiane will call Police re reverse 911.
iv. Christiane also ask Police about having drug drop off day at same time
Police Station.
v. Laura finalizing a flier that she will distribute to the school and to the town
website – will email out to everybody in next couple of days.
vi. Laura to get new date sticker for banner, Andy will add to banner.
vii. Andy to confirm trash-bins with Harvey’s.
viii. Ken will check with timing with Whitehall.
ix. Andy will contact Hop News and Metrowest Daily News. Laura will contact
the Patch.
x. Laura will hang some fliers around town.
xi. Andy B will call John Westerling re supporting overall efforts, including
when single stream recycling will begin.
xii. Rain-date April 26.
4. Old Business
a. Solar Site
i. Dave distributed RFP early this evening, looking for comments by end of
this week.
b. Hop Green Website
i. Chris McClure has us set up so we can edit our website.
ii. Training will be offered, timing TBD, expected to be over a lunch hour.
Targeting last week of March.
iii. Google chat.
c. Laura looking to address improved recycling removal containers on Common.
i. Laura has found some inexpensive options, will present to Parks and Rec
and Hopkinton Preservation Society for their approval. Goal is to have this
incorporated into regular pick-ups from Common.
d. Conflict of Interest training still needs to be completed.
5. New Business
a. Next meeting – March 25, 2014, 8 PM.
