RESOLUTION NO. 80 -1933
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TEMPLE CITY, COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING SUBMISSION TO THE LOCAL
AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION OF THE COUNTY OF LOS
ANGELES, OF AN APPLICATION FOR ANNEXATION TO COMMENCE
PROCEEDINGS FOR ANNEXATION NO. 80 -2, PURSUANT TO THE
PROCEDURES ESTABLISHED BY "MUNICIPAL ORGANIZATION
ACT, 1977" (ISLAND ANNEXATION - 100 ACRES OR LESS).
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Municipal Organi ±ation Act of 1977 (MORGA)
proceedings are hereby initiated by the Council oftheCity of
Temple City on its own motion, to annex to the City of Temple City,
all that territory situated in the County of Los Angele.s,.State of
California, hereby designated as Annexation No. '80.-2 as described
in the attached legal description.
SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Temple City
desires to annex said territory to the City of Temple City, pur-
suant to Section 35150 (F) ( "Island" Annexation involving 100'
acres or less) for,the following reasons: •
The territory within the City's designated sphere of
influence is. contiguous to and substantially surrounded by
the City of Temple City and this proposed annexation will
contribute to and facilitate the orderly planning and develop-
ment of both the City and the territory proposed to be annexed
SECTION 3. That attached to this resolution and made apart
thereto is an application to initiate proceedings for annexation
to theCity,of Temple City. Contained in that application is a
narrative explanation for a plan to provide public services to the
proposed territory.to be annexed to the City of Temple City. This
plan enumerates the level of service, the feasibility of providing
said service,. describes how said services are provided now prior
to annexation and what related additional costs, if any, there will
be to the annexing city.
SECTION 4. In accordance with the provisions of Section 35411
of the Government Code, land and improvements within this territory
shall not. be liable for the general indebtedness of the. City, existing
at the time of annexation.
SECTION 5. Upon adoption of this resolution by the legislative
body of the City of Temple City, the,City Clerk is directed to cause
copies of the "Resolution of Application," along'with other necessary
documents to be filed with the Executive Office of the Local Agency
Formation Commission of the County of Los Angeles.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution.
APPROVED, PASSED, AND ADOPTED THIS 30th day of September, 1980,
by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen- Dennis, Gillanders, Merritt, Atkins.
NOES: Councilmen -None •
ABSENT: Councilmen - Tyrell
