Home My Public Portal About2019-03-18 pre-meeting1 COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, MARCH 18, 2019 CALL TO ORDER In the absence of Mayor Carrie Tergin, President Pro Tempore Ken Hussey called the March 18, 2019 City Council “Pre-Meeting” to order at 5:45 P.M. to review the agenda. ATTENDANCE The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened: Present: Fitzwater, Graham, Hensley, Hussey, Kemna, Mihalevich, Prather, Schreiber, and Ward Absent: Wiseman A quorum was present. DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS Councilman Mihalevich will lead the prayer. Mayor Tergin arrived at 5:46 P.M. Councilwoman Wiseman arrived at 5:47 P.M. Miscellaneous Agenda Items - Brad Van Loo will introduce himself as the new Local 671 Firefighter ’s Union President. - Steve Crowell, City Administrator, will present the March Outstanding Employee Service Award to Maurice Burnley of the Transit Division. Public Hearings - Sonny Sanders, Director of Planning and Protective Services, will present RS2018-35 and RS2018-36 related to short term rentals. - Ryan Moehlman, City Counselor, will present Bill 2108 -109. Appointments - Gail Strope, Human Resources Director, will present the recommended appointments to select boards and commissions. Announcements - In addition to the announcements listed on the agenda, Councilman Schrei ber will have an announcement. Mayor Tergin will announce the Concert Inside the Walls entertainment. 2 COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, MARCH 18, 2019 Bills Pending - Matt Morasch, Director of Public Works, will present Bills 2018-107 and 2018- 108 - Bills 2018-110, 2018-111, and 2019-112 are all related. Mr. Sanders and Mr. Morasch will provide a brief presentation on each of the three bills. - Mr. Sanders will present Bills 2018-113 and 2018-115. - Mr. Moehlman will present Bill 2018-114. - Police Lt. Chad Stieferman will present Bill 2018-116. - Dr. Jessica Thiele, Veterinarian for the Animal Shelter will present Bill 2018 - 117 pertaining to Community Cats. Resolutions - Mr. Moehlman will present RS2018-37 and RS2018-39 - Mr. Sanders will present RS2018-38. New Business - Councilman Mihalevich may discuss the process for special permits.
