Call to Order 2. Acceptance of Minutes a. 3.11.14 – no one who was at last meeting is here tonight besides myself. b. 3.25.14 – approved by Andy, Ken and myself. All others were not in attendance at last meeting. 3. Shred and Green Up day planning & check list a. Green-Up Day – April 12, 8:30 AM at Common i. Textile recycling will not be able to be included this weekend. ii. Andy bought more gloves and trash bags. iii. Amended the previous $50 authorization to increase to $90. iv. Moving forward with drug drop off day at same time at Police Station [actually have drug drop off available any day] v. Andy confirmed trash-bins with Harvey’s – Lake Whitehall, Middle School, Town Hall, Sandy Beach vi. Rain-date April 26. 4. Fruit Street RFP review a. Solar Site i. Dave distributed RFP early this evening – 3.11.14. 1. Still needs Norman’s blessing and then BOS approval. ii. John K spoke with Dave two weeks ago. Dave mentioned that we had facilities in two zones so this may also support the 2MW size. iii. Sent comments back to Dave on March 26. iv. Expect Phase II of SREC Program to be up and running any day. 1. With Phase II need to use electricity generated on site or will only get 70% of an SREC. v. Andy will ping Norman for an update. 5. New Member Introduction a. Mark Stephan – in town for 7 months, works for EMC, works on Corporate Sustainability, stakeholder and employee business sustainability. b. Don Kaiser – 30 yr resident, always interested in environment, lives by Lake Maspenock, been part of Lake Maspenock Association for number of years. 6. Old Business a. Redistribute list of 2013-2014 projects – from 11.26.14 meeting minutes. b. Hop Green Website i. Chris McClure has us set up and he added some items to our website. ii. Training will be offered, timing TBD, expected to be over a lunch hour. Targeting last week of March. SGC 040814 ~~ REV. 11/25/2014 ~~ PAGE 2 OF 2 iii. Google chat. c. Laura looking to address improved recycling removal containers on Common. i. Laura has found some inexpensive options, will present to Parks and Rec and Hopkinton Preservation Society for their approval. Goal is to have this incorporated into regular pick-ups from Common. d. Conflict of Interest training still needs to be completed. i. MA state site – municipal ethics. 7. New Business a. Bill Perkins approached Andy, questioning putting in a solar farm on a 3 acre lot on Hayden Rowe St. Andy mentioned to him potential to make it a solar farm that allows townspeople to purchase shares. Property is next to but behind Cornell’s. b. Ken has been contacted by woman on Leonard St regarding the bus parking that is potentially being proposed in the Middle School/Leonard Street area. Concerned with runoff, emergency access to Leonard St, historical arguments, etc. Ken will forward to Frank. c. Next meeting – April 22, 2014, 8 PM. 8. Adjourn a. Adjourned at 9:15 pm.
