HomeMy Public PortalAbout2019-04-01 pre-meeting1 COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, APRIL 1, 2019 CALL TO ORDER In the absence of Mayor Carrie Tergin, President Pro Tempore Ken Hussey called the April 1, 2019 City Council “Pre-Meeting” to order at 5:45 P.M. to review the agenda. ATTENDANCE The following Council Members were present when the meeting convened: Present: Fitzwater, Graham, Hussey, Kemna, Mihalevich, Prather, Schreiber, and Ward Absent: Hensley and Wiseman A quorum was present. DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS Councilman Hensley will lead the prayer. Councilwoman Wiseman arrived at 5:48 P.M. Councilman Hensley arrived at 5:49 P.M. Miscellaneous Agenda Items - Councilman Hussey will present a proclamation to Annie Wilson with Missouri KidsFirst in recognition of “Child Abuse Prevention Month”. - Abigail Anderson, Executive Director of Central Northern Missouri Red Cross will present the “Sound the Alarm” informational campaign on smoke detectors. - Councilman Hussey will present the “April is Fair Housing Month” proclamation to Stephanie Biggs, President of the Jefferson City Area Board of Realtors. Ms. Biggs will then introduce the Fair Housing Poster Contest winners. Public Hearings - Jayme Abbott, Neighborhood Services Manager, will present RS2018-40. Bills Introduced - Eric Barron, Planning Manager, will present Bills 2018-124, 2018-125, and 2018-126. Staff requested that all three bills be first read at one time since they are related. Mr. Barron will then make one presentation pertaini ng to all three bills. 2 COUNCIL “PRE-MEETING” WORK SESSION, APRIL 1, 2019 - Matt Morasch, Director of Public Works, will present Bills 2018-127, 2018- 128, and 2018-129. Bills Pending - Fire Chief Matt Schofield will present Bill 2018-119. - Mr. Morasch will present Bills 2018-120, 2018-121, and 2018-122. - Aaron Grefrath, Assistant Director Programs for the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Forestry will present Bill 2018-123. Resolutions - Chief Schofield will present RS2018-41. ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 5:58 P.M.
