RIVERDALE CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
PLACE: Riverdale City Hall, 110 Manor Drive, Riverdale, Iowa
DATE: August 12, 2022 TIME: 8:00 a.m.
NOTE: A special meeting of the City Council was held in -person at the appointed time and day in accordance
with open meeting laws set and defined by the State of Iowa (Sections 21.2 and 21.8).
1. WELCOME
1.1 CALL TO ORDER - The meeting was called to order at 8:04 a.m. by Mayor Anthony Heddlesten.
1.2 ROLL CALL - Council Members present: Adams (via telephone), DCamp, Halsey, Jurgena, Littrel. Absent:
None. Also present: City Clerk Kent Royster and Deputy Clerk Kelly Krell.
2. ADJOURN TO CLOSED SESSION
Motion by DCamp, seconded by Littrel, to move into closed session per Iowa State Code 21.5(1)(i), to
evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance, or
discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual's
reputation and that individual requests a closed session. Roll call vote:
Adams: Aye
DCamp: Aye
Halsey: Aye
Jurgena: Aye
Littrel: Aye
All ayes; motion carried. Council moved into closed session at 8:06 a.m. Deputy Clerk Kelly Krell left the
meeting.
3. RECONVENE TO OPEN SESSION
Motion by Jurgena, seconded by Littrel, to reconvene into open session. Roll call vote:
Adams: Aye
DCamp: Aye
Halsey: Aye
Jurgena: Aye
Littrel: Aye
All ayes; motion carried. Council moved into open session at 8:27 a.m. Deputy Clerk Kelly Krell joined the
meeting.
4. RESOLUTIONS
4.1 2022-53 Resolution Accepting the Resignation of City Administrator/Clerk Kent Royster
Motion by Littrel; seconded Jurgena, to accept the City Administrator/Clerk's resignation subject to
additional contingencies and upon review by City's legal counsel. Roll call vote:
Adams: Aye
DCamp: Aye
Halsey: Aye
Jurgena: Aye
Littrel: Aye
All ayes; motion carried. Heddlesten thanked Royster for his service.
5. ADJOURNMENT
Motion by DCamp seconded by Jurgena. AM ayes; MC. The special meeting of the City Council was formally
adjourned at 8:31 a.m.
