AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
ENGINEERING SERVICES T & M ASSOCIATES
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of specialized engineering
services in connection with the Hill District Storm Sewer Improvements; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Engineer, Donald J. Norbut, P.E., P.P. of T & M
Associates has advised the Council that conceptual design alternatives have been
developed for two separate improvements:
(a) a storm water culvert across Industrial Road; and
(b) a new storm water gravity line and/or storm water pump station
relief system; and
WHEREAS, the engineer has advised that the two separate projects should be
considered together and that final improvement concepts need to be refined; and
WHEREAS, the Engineer has further advised that it is necessary to complete the
project alternative evaluations and define permit requirements, as well as property
issues related to the routing of the storm water improvements and preparation of
preliminary construction cost estimates; and
WHEREAS, T & M Associates has submitted a proposal to complete the above
referenced engineering conceptual phase work in a total amount not to exceed
$9,800.00, so that the final design phase of the project can be initiated; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have reviewed the proposal; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are available for
said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. The proposal from T & M Associates for engineering services related
to the conceptual phase work for the Hill District Storm Sewer
Improvements at a total cost not to exceed $ 9,800.00 at the hourly rate
set forth in the existing contract with the Borough is hereby approved;
2. Annexed hereto is a copy of the proposal;

3. This action is approved as an award of a professional services contract.

and certified as a true copy of the
