HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 0864~~y~ , n ORDINANCE N0. 864 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 4.02, AND 6.02 OF CITY ORDINANCE N0. 570 TO ENLARGE THE PROVISIOPdS THEREOF TO PROHIBIT THE PERMAPdENT PARKING OF VEHICLES ISv A FRONT YARD, EXCEPT IN A PRIVATE DRIVEWAY DURING CERTAIN RESTRICTED PERIODS AND AMENDING PARAGRAPH (b) 4 OF SECTION 12.04 OF CITY ORDINANCE N0. 570 TO REFLECT THIS LIMITED PARKING IN SAID PRIVATE DRIVEWAY. The City Council of the City of Lynwood, California, does hereby ordain as follows: Section 1. Section 4.02 of City Ordinance No. 5'70 is amended to read: "FRONT YARD. There shall be a front yard of not less than twenty (20) feet, except where lots comprising forty (40) percent or more of the frontage on one side of a street between intersecting streets are developed with buildings having an average front yard with a variation of not more than six (6) feet. No building hereafter erected or structurally altered shall project beyond the average front yard line so established. No motor vehicles, trailers, boats, or parts thereof, shall be parked, stored, or placed in or upon said front yard except that an automobile may be parked in a driveway as defined by Section 490 of the Vehicle Code within said front yard area for a period not to exceed 72 hours." Section 2. Section 6.02 of City Ordinance No. 570 is amended to read "FRONT YARD. There shall be a front yard of not less than twenty (20) percent of the depth of the lot, provided such front yard need not exceed fifteen (15) feet, except where lots comprising forty (40) percent or more of the frontage on one side of a street between intersecting streets are developed with buildings having an average front yard with a variation of not more than six (6) feet. Section 3• Paragraph (b) 4 of Section 12.04 of City Ordinance No. 570 is amended to read as follows: "Dwellings - single family: Two spaces in a private garage on the premises. PJo automobiles or other wheeled vehicles shall be parked on the premises other than in these twospaces or the driveway subject, however, to the provisions of Sections 4.02 and 6.02." Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to certify to the passage of this ordinance, and to cause the same to be published in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circulation printed and circulated in the City of Lynwood. First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on the 6th day of May 1969, and finally adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council held on the 20th day of DZay 1969, by the following vote: _ Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Green, Siokos, Smith, Stevens Noes: Councilmen None.
