ORDINANCE N0. 866 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AMENDING SECTION 21.1 OF THE LYNWOOD CITY CODE TO PERMIT MINORS OVER THE AGE OF FOURTEEN YEARS TO PATRONIZE A POOL OR BILLIARD HALL THAT COMPLIES WITH CERTAIN STANDARDS AS TO VISIBILITY FROM THE STREET, INTERIOR LIGHTING, AND THE PROHIBITION AGAINST SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON THE PREMISES. The City Council of the City of Lynwood does ordain as follows: Section L. Section 21.1 of the Lynwood City Code is amended to read as follows: "(a) Defiriition of 'pool hall' or 'billiard parlor.' As hereinafter referred to the term 'pool hall' or 'billiard parlor' shall mean any establishment within the city open to the general public maintaining or permitting to be maintained one or more pool or billiard tables available for public use. "(b) Except as hereinafter provided, no persons shall be permitted to visit, enter upon or play in any Fu>ol or billiard game, in any billiard parlor or pool hall unless that person shall have reached his eighteenth birthday. "(c) Except as hereinafter provided, it shall be unlawful for the proprietor, manager or person in charge of or in control of any billiard parlor or pool hall in the city to allow any person who has not reached his eighteenth birthday. to visit, enter upon or play in any pool or billiard games in any such place in his charge, ownership or management. "(d) Minors who have reached their fourteenth birthday may be permitted upon the premises mentioned herein above; provided such premises shall comply and be in accordance with the following requirements: "(1) Tli~at% th'e''preinl'ses here-nabove ~mentioned'sH811 be so `constructed -so as t'o be 'fu hl-y'exposed -t'o public -view from' -1- the public sidewalk and thoroughfare on the front portion of such building which exposure to public view shall be unobstructed, except by necessary roof supports therefor. "(2) No alcoholic beverages of any nature whatsoever shall be permitted to be served to the general public upon such premises. "(3) That at all times that said premises are open to the general public they shall be well lighted." Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to be published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published, and circulated in the City of Lynwood. First read at the regular meeting of the City Council of said city held on the _lst day of July 1969, and finally adopted and ordered published at the regular meeting of said Council held on the 15th day of July 1968, by the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Green, Liewer, Siokos Noes: Councilmen Pdone Absent: Councilmen Stevens ~?" ,.
