ORDINANCE No. 867
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF' LYDIWOOD APPROVING`
THE ANNEXATION OF THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES LYING DIORTHWESTERLY OF
THE EXISTING CITY BOUNDARY ON THE EAST ROADWAY
OF ALAMEDA STREET (JORGENSEN ANNEXATION).
WHEREAS, Pursuant to the Annexation of Uninhabited
territory Act of 1939, as amended, then'e was presented to the City
Council of the City of Lynwood, California, a petition dated
May :6, 1968, executed by J. F. Watkins, Vice President and Secretary,
Earle M. Jorgensen Company, requesting the annexation of certain
property lying northoaesterly of the existing city boundary on
the east roadway of Alameda Street in the County of Los Angeles,
State of California, and hereinafter particularly described, and
WHEREAS, The City Council of said City, Resolution No.
69-28, adopted on the 20th day of May, 1969, duly gave notice of
and fixed the.lst.-of July, lg6g, at 7:30 p.m., in the Council
Chambers of the City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California,
as the day, hour, and place when and where any person owning real
property within the city who does not also own property in the
territory to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed
annexation might appear before said City Council and show cause
why such territory should not be annexed, and
WHEREAS, said resolution was published in the Lynwood
Press, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published
in the City of Lynwood, and in the Herald American, a newspaper
published outside said City but circulated within the County of
Los Angeles, and
WHEREAS, no person owning real property within the City
who' does not also own property in the territory to be annexed
appeared before the City Council to show cause why such territory
should not be annexed, and

WHEREAS, said City Council approves the annexation of
said territory to the City of Lynwood, and
WHEREAS, all proceeding have been in conformity with
law,
NOG1, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood
does ordain as follows:
Section 1. That pursuant to the "Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939" as amended, the annexation of that certain
territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood in the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, designated as "Jorgensen Annexation"
as hereinafter more particularly described, hereby is approved.
Said territory lying northwesterly of the existing City
boundary on the east roadway of Alameda Street in the County of
Los Angeles, State of California, and lying within the following
described boundaries:
That portion of the San Antonio Rancho described as
follows:
Beginning at the northeasterly corner of Tract No. 9196
as shown on map filed in Book 122, Page 19 of Maps, in the office
of the Recorder of the County of LosAngeles; thence South 10°
East 1480.54 feet along the easterly boundary of Forthmann Tract
as shown on map filed in Book 7, pages 158 and 159 of said Maps
to the northerly terminus of that certain course in said boundary
having a bearing of N 14°16' E; thence South 14°05' West along
said certain course and its southerly prolongation 218.71 feet to
the most northerly corner of Lot 20 in Block A of the Watts Park
Tract as shown on map filed in Book 8, page 70 of said Maps; thence
southerly in a direct line to the most westerly corner of Lot 22 in
said block, said westerly corner being a point in the northerly
line of 107th Place, formerly First Street (t{0 feet wide), as shown
on said last rnentioned map; thence North 87°35' East along said
northerly line 242.19 feet to an angle point in the boundary of

the City of Lynwood as same existed on March 7, 1969; thence
northerly along said last mentioned boundary and following the
same in all its various courses to an angle point in the boundary
of the City of South Gate as same existed on said date; thence
northerly along said last mentioned boundary to the easterly
prolongation of the southerly line of 103rd Street, formerly Main
Street (60 feet wide), as described in deed to County of Los
Angeles recorded in Book 429, page 265 of said Official Records;
thence westerly along said last mentioned prolongation and southerly
line to the point of beginning.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed
to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same
to be published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed,published and circulated in the City of
Lynwood.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said city held on the 1st day of July, 1969, and finally adopted
and ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council held
on the 15th day of July, 1969, by the following vote:

Noes:
Councilmen None
Absent: Councilmen Stevens.

on the date and by the vote therein stated.
