RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING BOW AND ARROW DEER HUNTING
RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR 22-23 SEASON
WHEREAS, the City of Riverdale, Iowa ("City") is a municipal corporation, organized and operating under
the laws of the State of Iowa; and,
WHEREAS, bow and arrow deer hunting is allowed in Iowa during the period from September 17, 2022
through January 10, 2023, in areas that are designated as 'Deer Management Zones' by the Iowa
Department of Natural Resources (IDNR); and,
WHEREAS, the City of Bettendorf Police Department has offered to provide deer hunting services for the
City of Riverdale for the 2022-2023 season at no charge and have provided satisfactory service in the
past; and,
WHEREAS, in order to participate, each hunter must comply with:
a. IDNR regulations for bow and arrow deer hunting; and,
b. City of Riverdale ordinance #56.03 HUNTING; and,
c. City of Bettendorf ordinance #5-5A-4 WEAPONS; and,
d. City of Bettendorf procedures, rules, and regulations for bow and arrow deer hunting;
and,
WHEREAS, this item requires no funding source.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverdale, Iowa, that:
Section 1: The Mayor is authorized to enter into an agreement with the City of Bettendorf for bow
and arrow deer hunting for the 22-23 season.
