ORDINANCE N0. 835
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOll ADDING ARTICLE
III TO CHAPTER 29 OF THE LYNWOOD CITY CODE.
The City Council of the City of Lynwood does hereby ordain
as follows:
Section 1: Additional revenues will accrue to the City
in the form of a State imposed Cigarette `Pax. It is deemed that
the best interests of the City will be served if a division is made
of Cigarette ^1 ax receipts between the Capital Fund and the General
Fund.
Section 2: Chapter 2g of the Lynwood City Code is hereby
amended to add a new Article III, Section 29.11, which shall .read
as follows:
"Article III. Cigarette Taxes.
Section 29.11 Allocation of Funds.
All revenues received by the City from State allocated
Cigarette Taxes shall be allocated as follows:
a. To General Fund.. The first thirty-thousand
dollars received in any fiscal year shall be allocated
to the General Fund to be used for general government
purposes.
b. To Capital Improvement Fund. All revenues
received in excess of the first thirty-thousand
dollars in any fiscal year shall be allocated to the
Capital Improvement Fund and used only for capital
improvements, new equipment, approved replacement
items, land acquisition and retirementof general
-~ obligation bonds."
Section 3. The City Clerk is~hereby ordered and directed
to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same
to be published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published and circulated in the City of Lynwood.

First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said city held on the 19th day of September, 1867, and finally
adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council
held on the 3rd day of October, 1967, by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Byork; Greeh; Siokos; Smith; Stevens.
