AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYPdi-JOOD, CALIFORNIA,
AT":ENDING SF'CTION 8.01, 8.02, 8.9.01.2, 9.01(1),
10.01(1) and 11.01(1) OF CITY ORDINANCE N0. 570
7'0 ADD CHRISTMAS THEE SALES AND FIREIdORKS STAND
SALES AS PERMIT'j'ED USES UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS
IN "C" AND "M" ZONES.
The City L"ouncil of the City of Lynwood does ordain as
follows:
Section 1. Section 8.01 of City Ordinance No. 570 is
amended to read as follovas
"8.01. USE. No building or land shall be used or occupied
for, or no building shall be erected, constructed, established,
altered, enlarged, moved into, or within a zone C-2 which is to be
used or occupied for any other purposes than as follows:
"l. Any use permitted in P-1, Automobile Parking Lone, and
when so used subject to a_11 the provisions contained
in the Chapter defining said zone.
"2. Retail stores or businesses not involving any kind of
manufacture, processing, or treatment of products
ether than that which is clearly incidental to the
retail business conducted on the premises and provided
that not more than five (5) persons are employed in the
manufacture, processing or treatment of products, and
that such operations or products are not objectionable
due to noise, odor, dust, smoke, vibration or other
similar causes.
'3• Advertising sign boards or structures.
"4. Antique store.
"5. Automobile service station.
"6. Bakery, retail.
"7. Bank.
"8. Barber shop or beauty parlor.

"9. Baths, turkish, and the like.
"10. Billiard or pool hall.
"11. Blueprinting and photostating.
"12. Bird store or pet shop.
"13. Book or stationery store.
"14. Christmas tree sales at retail, on a lot or parcel of
land subject to Section 20.82 through 20.92 and Section,
20.103 of the Lynwood City Code.
"15. Church, temporary revival.
"16, Confectionary Store.
nl7o Cleaning and pressing establishment using non-inflammable
and non-explosive cleaning fluid.
"18, Conservatory of music.
"1.9. Department store.
"20, Dressmaking or millinery shcp.
"21, Drug store.
"22, Dry goods or notions store.
"23, Electric appliance stores and repairs.
"29, Electric distributing substation (when enclosed with a
solid masonary wall).
"2~, Fireworks sales at retail subject to Article II, Chapter
xIII (Sections 13.16 through 13.31) Lynwood City Code.
"2b Florist shop.
"27 Funeral parlor.
"'28. Furniture store.
"29. Furniture warehouses for storing personal household goods,
provided ground floor front is devoted to stores.

vibration, etc.).

"55. Tinsmith, (not sheet metal; see Section 9.01, 6(d).
".56. Used car sales area, provided (a) that no repair or
reconditioning of automobiles shall be permitted, except
when enclosed in a building; and (b), that such area is
located and developed as required in Section 12.02.
"57. Wedding chapel.
5,8. Accessory buildings and uses customarily incident to any
of the above uses when located on the same lot."
Section 2. Section 8.02 of City Ordi.
to read as follows:
"Section 8.02. C-2 uses in building.
zone C-2 shall be conducted primarily within a

through 20.92 and Section 20.103 of the Lynwood City Code, and sales
of fireworks at retail within a temporary building subject to Article
II, Chapter XIII (Sections 13.16 through 1"3.31) Lynwood City Code.
Permanently improved outdoor sales areas shall be clearly incidental
to the use."
Section 3• Section 8A.01.2 of City Ordinance No. 570 is
amended to read a.s follows:
"The uses permitted in zone C-2-a shall be conducted primarily
within a building except automobile service stations, advertising
structures, used car sales areas, nurseries (flowers and plants),
public utility lines and substations, off-street parking and loading
facilities, sales of Christmas trees at retail on a lot or parcel of
land, subject to Sections 20.82 through 20.92 and Section 20.102 of the
Lynwood City Code and sales of Firevrorks at retail in a temporary
building subject to Article II, Chapter XIII (Sections 13.16 througY~
13.31) Lynwood City Code. Permanently employed sales area shall be
clearly incidental to the use."'
Section 4. Section 9.01(1) of City Ordinance No. 570 is
amended to read as follows:
"Any use permitted in a C-2-a zone, and when so used subject
to all the provisions contained in Section 8A.01.2, as amended, pertaining
to the sale of Christmas trees and fireworks at retail."
Section 5• Section 10.01(1) of City Crdinance No. 570 is
amended to read as follows:
"Any use permitted in the "C-3" Heavy Commercial Zone, and
when so used subject to all the provisions contained in Section 8A.01.2
pertaining to the sale of Christmas trees and fireworks at retail. as
amended, but otherwise subject to the provisions and conditions of
this Chapter only, EXCEPT that no building or land shall be used or
occupied for, or no building shall be erected, constructed, or
established or altered, enlarged, moved into or within a Zorie M-1 which

is to be used or occupied for residential purposes, except trailer parks,
trailer camps, and mobile home estates, and except one dwel.l.ing
on the same lot or parcel of land which is legally being used so
as to require the continuous supervision of a r_aretaker or
superintendent and his immediate family, which two uses are expressly
permitted in an M-1 Zone."
Section 6. Section X1.01(1) of City Ordinance No. 570
is amended to read as follows:
"Any use permitted in the 'M-1' Zone, and when so used
subject to all the provisions contained in Section 8A.01..2, as
amended pertaining to the use of Christmas trees and fireworks at
retail."
Section 7. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed
to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to
be published once in the Lynwood Press, a nevrspaper of general
circulation printed and circulated i.n the City of Lynwood.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said
city held on the j:8th day of April 1967, and finally
adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council
held on the 2nd day of May 1967, by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Green, Sidkos, Smith, Stevens.
Noes: Councilmen None
