ORDINANCE N0. 810
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING
THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF LYNWOOD OF CER-
TAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "CENTURY
BOULEVARD ANNEXATION N0. 2" WHICH IS CONTIGUOiJS
TO THE CITY OF LYNWOOD.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation Act
of 1913" and pursuant to Resolution No. 66-66 adopted by the City
Council of 'the City of Lynwood on the 19th day of July, 1966, a special
annexation election was held on the 27th day of September, 1966, in
that certain inhabited territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood
designated as "Century Boulevard Annexation No. 2," and which is
hereinafter more particularly described, and
WHEREAS, at said special annexation election the following
question was submitted to the qualified electors residing in said
territory:
"Shall Century Boulevard Annexation No. 2 be annexed to
the City of Lynwood?"
WHEREAS, it appears from the canvass of the returns of
the votes cast at said special annexation election that a majority
of all votes cast in said territory on the question of said annex-
an on favor annexation to the City of Lynwood, and
WHEREAS, it appears that said special election and all
proceedings relating thereto have been conducted in accordance with
law,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNG100D
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the annexation of that certain inhabited
territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood, designated as "Century
Boulevard Annexation No. 2" which was submitted at the special
annexation election held on the 27th day of September, 1966, as
hereinafter more particularly described, hereby is approved..
Said territory is described as follows:

Beginhing at the intersection of the centerline of Los
Flores Boulevard, 50 feet wide, and the northerly prolongation of
the centerline of the first alley east of Pope Avenue, said alley
being 15 feet wide, as shown on map of Tract No. 7984, recorded in
Book 90, pages 34, 35 and 36 of Maps, in the Office of the Recorder
of Los Angeles County, State of California, said intersection being
an angle point in the boundary of the City of Lynwood as same
existed on October 1, 1965; thence along said boundary the following
described courses: southerly along said last mentioned centerline
to the centerline of Elmwood Avenue, 50 feet wide, easterly along
said centerline and the prolongation thereof to the easterly line
of Wright Road, 50 feet wide, southerly along said easterly line
and following the same in all its various courses to the southerly
line of Century Boulevard (formerly Morton Avenue), 55 feet wide, as
shown on map of Tract No. 10634 recorded in Book 165, pages 40, 41,
and 42 of Maps, in the Office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County,
State of California, westerly along said southerly line to the pro-
longation of the easterly boundary of Tract No. 6728, as shown on
map recorded in Book 125, pages 19 and 20 of Maps, in the Office of
the Recorder of Los Angeles County, State of California, southerly
along said prolongation and the easterly boundary of said Tract No.
6728 to the easterly tract line of Tract No. 10614, as shown on
map recorded in Book 211, pages 38 and 39 of Maps, in the Office
of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, State of California, southerly
along the boundary of said Tract No. 10614 to the southerly tract
line of said Tract No. 10614, westerly along the southerly boundary
of said Tract No. 10614 to the easterly line of Lots 13, 14 and 15 of
said Tract No. 10614, northerly along the easterly line of said lots
to the northerly line of Lot 15 of said Tract No. 10614, westerly
along said northerly lot line and the prolongation thereof to the
centerline of El Granada Avenue, 60 feet wide, southerly along said
centerline to.the prolongatiorn`of the northerly. line of Lot 11 of said
Tract No. 10614, westerly along said prolongation and northerly line
to the easterly line of Tract No. 5818, as shown on map recorded in
Book 140, page 43 of Maps, in the Office of the Recorder of the
County of Los Angeles, State of California, southerly along the
boundary of said Tract No. 5$18 to the southerly line of said Tract
Dio. 5818, westerly along the boundary of said Tract No. 5818 to the
westerly line of the first alley east of Atlantic Avenue; said alley
being 20 feet wide, northerly along said westerly line and the pro-
longation thereof to the westerly prolongation of the southerly line
of Cortland Avenue, 30 feet wide, as shown on map of Tract No. 6728
recorded in Book 125, pages 19 and 20 of Maps, in the Office of the
Recorder of Los Angeles County, State of California, easterly along
said prolongation to the intersection of the westerly line of Virginia
Avenue, 24.1 feet wide, as shown on map of said Tract No. 6728, northerly
and westerly along the boundary of said Tract No. 6728 to the inter-
section of the centerline of Virginia Avenue, 60 feet wide, as
shown on map of said Tract No. 6728, northerly along said centerline
to the intersection of the easterly prolongation of the southerly line
of Lot 53 of said Tract No. 6728; thence leaving said boundary of the
City of Lynwood and continuing northerly along said centerline to the
intersection of the centerline of Walnut Avenue, 60 feet wide, as
shown on map of said Tract No. 6728; thence easterly along said
last mentioned centerline to the southerly prolongation of the
easterly line of Lot 36 of said Tract No. 6728; thence northerly
along said prolongation and easterly line and the prolongation
thereof to the center line of the first alley north of Walnut Avenue,
said alley being 20 feet wide, as shown on map of said Tract No. 6728;
thence westerly along said last mentioned centerline to the westerly
line of the first. alley east of .Atlantic Avenue, said alley 20 feet
wide, as shown on map of said Tract No. 6728, said westerly line also
being said boundary of the City of Lynwood; thence along said boundary
the following described courses: northerly along said westerly line
to the northeasterly corner of Lot 1 of said Tract No. 6728; thence
northerly in a direct line to the southeasterly corner of Lot 132
of said Tract No. 7984, northerly along the westerly line of the
first alley east of Atlantic Avenue, said alley 20 feet wide, and
the prolongations thereof to the westerly prolongation of the southerly
line of Lot 163, of said Tract No. 7984, easterly along said prolon-
gation and southerly line to the westerly line of Virginia Avenue,
50 feet wide, northerly along said westerly line to the northerly
line of Lot 165 of said Tract No. 7984, westerly along said northerly
line and the prolongation thereof to the westerly line of the first
alley east of Atlantic Avenue, said alley 20 feet wide, northerly
along said westerly line to the prolongation of aline 30 feet northerly
of the southerly line of Lot 185 of said Tract No. 7984, easterly
along said prolongation and line and the prolongation thereof to the
centerline of Virginia Avenue, 50 feet wide, northerly along said
centerline to the centerline of Los Flores Boulevard, 50 feet wide,
easterly along said center line to the point of beginning.
Section 2. That this ordinance shall take effect immediately
in accordance with the terms of Section 3693' of the Government
Code of the State of California,
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed
to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same
to be published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published, and circulated in the City of
Lynwood.
Pirst read at a regular meeting of the City Council. of
said City held on the 4th day of October, 1966, and finally adopted
and ordered published at the regular meeting of said Council held
on the 1st day of November, 1966, by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Duncan, Siokos, Smith, Stevens
Noes: Councilmen None
Absent: Councilmen None
