HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrd. 0791~~ .. , ORDINANCE iQO. 791 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNG~OOD AMENDING THE LYNWOOD CITY CODE BY AMENDING SECTION 21.1 THEREOF RELATIAiG TO MINOP~S ENTERING OR VISITING BILLIARD OR POOL HALLS IN SAID CITY. The -City Couneil o£ the -City of Lynwood does hereby ordain as follows: Sectidh 1. The Lynwood City Code is hereby amended by amending Section 21.1 thereof to read as follows: __ __ ._ Section 21.1. Attending, e c., Billiard Rooms or Pool Halls. (a) Definition of "Pool Hall" or "Billiard Hall." As hereinafter referred to the Germ 11pool hall" or°billiard parlor'' shall mean any establishmeht within the City of ,Lynwood open to the general public maintaining or permitting to be maintained one or more pool or billiard tables available for public use. (b) Except as hereinafter provided, no persons shall be permitted to visit, enter upon, or play in any pool 7;or billiard game, in any billiard parlor or pool hall unless that person shall have reached his eighteenth birthday. (c) Except as hereinafter provided, it shall be unlawful for the proprietor, manager, or person in charge of or in control of any billiard parlor or pool hall in the City of Lynwood to allow any person who has not reached his eighteenth birthday to visit, enter upon, or play in any pool or billiard games in any such place in his charge, ownership, or management . (d) D4inors under the age of eighteen years may be permitted upon the premises mentioned hereinabove provided said -1- ' 0. ~ persons and premises shall comply and be in accordance with the following requirements: (1) That said persons shall be accompanied upon said premises by his or her parents or legally appointed guardian. (2) That the premises hereinabove mentioned shall be so constructed so as to be fully exposed to public view from the public sidewalk and thoroughfare on the front portion of said building which exposure to public vieva shall be unobstructed, except by necessary roof supports therefore. (3) No alcoholic beverages of any nature whatsoever shall be permitted to be served to the general public upon said premises. Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause. the same to be published in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper printed, published, and circulated in the City of Lynwood. First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held on the 21st day of December, 1865, and finally adopted and ordered published at a regular meeting of said Countil held on the 4th day of January, 1966, b,y the following vote: Ayes: Councilmen B,york, Duhcah, McMillan, Siokos, Smith.
