ORDINANCE N0. 786
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING THE
ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF LYNWOOD OF CERTAIN IN-
HABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "ATLANTIC AVENUE
ANNEXATION N0. 6" WHICH IS CONTIGUOUS TO THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the '''Annexation
Act of 1813" and pursuant to Resolution No. 65-66 adopted by the
City Council of the City of Lynwood on the 17th day of August, 1965,
a special annexation election was held on the 26th day of October,
1965, in that certain inhabited territory contiguous to the City of
Lynwood designated as "Atlantic Avenue Annexation No. 6," and which
is hereinafter more particularly described, and
WHEREAS, at said special annexation election the following
question was submitted to the qualified electors residing in said
territory:
"Shall Atlantic Avenue Annexation No. 6 be annexed to
the City of Lynwood?"
WHEREAS, it appears from the canvass of the returns of
the votes cast at said special annexation election that a majority
of all votes cast in said territory on the question of said
annexation favor annexation to the City of Lynwood, and
WHEREAS, it appears that said special election and all
proceedings relating thereto have been conducted in accordance
with law.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the annexation of that certain inhabited
territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood, designated as "Atlantic
Avenue Annexation No. 6" which was submitted at the special annexation
election held on the 26th day of October, 1965, as hereinafter more
particularly described, hereby is approved.
Said territory is described as follows:
Beginning at the northeasterly corner of Lot 6 of

Tract No. 5'709, as per map recorded in Book 65,
page 23 of Maps, Records of Los Angeles County,
California, said point of beginning being on the
City of Lynwood boundary line as said boundary
line existed September 30, 1964; thence easterly
along said boundary line and following the same
in all its various courses to an angle point in
the City of Paramount boundary line as said
last mentioned boundary line existed on September
30, 1864; 'thence, southerly along said last
mentioned boundary line following the same in all
its various courses to the southerly line of
Summerdale Street, 60 £eet wide, as shown on
map of Tract No, 1:1858 as per map recorded in
Book 220, pages 43 and 44 of Maps, Records of
Los Angeles County, California; thence westerly
along said southerly line and following the same
in all its various courses and curves to the
most southerly line of McMillan Street as shown
on map of said Tract No. 11.858; thence, westerly
along said most southerly line to the City of
Compton boundary line, as said last mentioned
boundary line existed September 30, 1964; thence,
northerly along said last mentioned boundary
line and following the same in all its various
courses to the City of Lynwood boundary line,
as said last mentioned boundary line existed
September 30, 1964; thence, easterly along
said last mentioned boundary line following the
same in all its various courses to the point of
beginning.
Section 2: That this ordinance shall take effect immediately
in accordance with the terms of Section 3693 of the Government Code
of the State of California,

Section 3: The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed
to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same
to be publiched once ir. the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed, published, and circulated in the City of
Lynwood.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said City held on the 2nd day of November, 1965, finally adopted

and ordered published at the regular meeting of said Council held
on the 16th day of November, 1965, by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Duncan, McMillan, Siokos, Smith.
Noes: Councilmen None
Absent: Councilmen None

I, the undersigned, City Clerk of the City of
Lynwood, and ex-officio clerk of the Council of said

correct copy of Ordinance No. 786 adopted by the City
Council of the City of Lynwood, and that same was passed
on the date and by the vote therein stated.
