ORDINANCE N0. 782
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CI'PY OF LYNWOOD APPROVING THE
ANNEXATION OF THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE COUNTY
OF LOS ANGELES LYING EASTERLY OF THE EXISTING CITY
BOUNDARY ON WALNUT AVENUE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory
Act of 1939, as amended, there was presented to the City Council of
the City of Lynwood, California, a petition dated March 1, 1965, executed
by Margaret L. Kanka, et al, requesting the annexation of certain property
lying easterly of the existing City boundary on Walnut Avenue, in the
County of Los Angeles, State of California, and hereinafter particularly
described, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of said City, by Resolution No. 65-57
adopted on the 20th day of July, 1965, duly gave notice of and fixed the
7th day of September, 1865, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the
City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California, as the day, hour, and
place when and where any person owning real property within the territory
to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed annexation might
appear before said City Council and show cause why such territory should
not be so annexed, and
WHEREAS, said resolution was published in the Lynwood Press,
a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City
of Lynwood, and also in the Herald American, a newspaper of general
circulation published outside of the City of Lynwood but in the county
in which is located the territory proposed to be annexed, and
WHEREAS, no person owning real property within the territory
to be annexed appeared before the City Council to show cause why such
territory should not be so annexed, and
WHEREAS, said City Council approves the annexation of said
territory to the City of Lynwood, and
WHEREAS, all proceedings have been in conformity with law,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Lynwood does
ordain as follows:

Section 1. That pursuant to the ''Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939" as amended, the annexation of that certain
territory continguous to bhe City of Lynwood in the County of Los Angeles
State of California, designated as "Atlantic Avenue Annexation No. 7-A"
as hereinafter described, hereby is approved.
Said territory lying easterly of the existing City boundary,
and in the County of Los Angeles, State of California, and lying within
the following described boundaries:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of
Virginia Avenue, 60 feet wide, as shown on map of
Tract No. 6728 recorded in Book 125, pages 19 and
20, of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the
County of Los Angeles, with the easterly prolongation
of the southerly line of Lot 53 of said tract, said
point being on the boundary line to the City of
Lynwood, as said boundary existed March 23, 1965;
thence northerly along said centerline to the
intersection of the centerline of Walnut Avenue, 60
feet wide as shown on said mpa; thence easterly along
said last mentioned centerline to the southerly pro-
longation of the easterly line of Lot 36 of said
tract; thence northerly along said southerly pro-
longation and easterly line and its northerly pro-
longation to the centerline of that certain alley,
20 feet wide, as shown on said map, lying northerly
of and adjoining Lots 34 to 42 inclusive, of said
tract; thence westerly along said last mentioned
centerline and its westerly prolongation to the City
of Lynwood Boundary, said boundary existing March
23, 1965; thence southerly and easterly along said
boundary to the point of beginning.
Section 2.
The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to
certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to be
published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper of general circulation

printed; published, and circulated in the City of L,yncaood.
Frist read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said City held on the 7th day of September, 1965; finally adopted
and ordered published at a regular meeting of said Council held
on the 21st day of September, 1965, by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Duhcan, McMillan, Siokos, Smith.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen Bvork.
Mayor of the City "o Lynwood.
