AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWCOD APPROVING TINT;
ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF LYNWOOD Or^ CER'TAIN IIQ-
HABITED TERRITORY DESIGNA'PED AS "DUNCAN AVENUE
ANNEXATION N0. 1" WHICH IS CONTIGUOUS TO THE
CITY OF LYNWOOD.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the "Annexation Act
of 1913" and pursuant to Resolutio:i Ivo. ,5j-~ a<?opted ;:, the "= t,y

annexation election was .:e1d on the 13th ;ia; of Juia, 1^6, ir_~ that
certain inhabited territory contiguous Lc tl~e C`1*y of Lynwood designated
as "Duncan Avenue Annexation No. 1," and which is hereinafter more
particularly described, and
WHEREAS, at said special annexation election the following
question was submitted to the aualified electors residing .in said
territory:
"Shall Duncan Avenue Annexation No. 1 be anner.ed to
the City of Lynwood?"
WHEREAS, it appears from the canvass of the returns of
the votes cast at said special annexation election that a majority of
all votes cast in said territory on the question of said annexation
favor annexation to the City of Lynvrood, and
WHEREAS, it appears that said special election and all
proceedings relating thereto have been conducted in accordance with lavr.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUPdCIL OF THE CI'PY OF L~YNWOOD
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section l: That the annexation of that certain inhabited
territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood, designated as "Duncan
Avenue Annexation No. 1" which was submitted at the special annexation
election held on the 13th day of July, 1965, as hereinafter more
particularly described, hereby is approved.
Said territory is described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of an easterly line of
the City of Lynwood boundary as said. boundary existed

California; thence easterly along said prolongation,
said northerly line and the easterly prolongation thereof
to the center line of Virginia Avenue 50 feet wide as
shown on said map; thence northerly along said. cer,*.er
line and the northerly prolongar,fon thereoi° i:o the
center line of Los Flores Boulevard 50 feet wide a.s shown
on said map; thence easterly along said last mentioned.

on said map, said alley being 15 feel, wide as shown on

easterly prolongation thereof to a westerly line of
the City of Lynwood boundary as said boundary existed
October 5, 1964; thence northerly along said boundary
and following the same in all its various courses to
the point of beginning.
Section 2: That this ordinance shall take effect immediately
in accordance with the terms of Section 36937 of the Oover•nment Code
of the State of California.
Section 3~ The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed
to certify to the passage of this ordinance and to cause the same to
be published once in the Lynwood Press, a newspaper oi' general
circulation, printed, published, and circu7.a.t;ed in tkie Ci*..y oS' Lynwood.
First read at a regular meeting of the City Council of
said City held on the 20th day of Juiy, 1965, and fina:fly adopted
and ordered published at the regular meeting of said Council held on
the 3rd day of August, 1965, by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilmen Byork, Duncan, McMillan, Siokos, Smith.
Noes: Councilmen None.
Absent: Councilmen None.
