AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD APPROVSNG
THE ANNEXATION Or THAT CERTAI:N PRGPERTY IN THE
COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES LYIPdG v^N THE WEST SIDE OF
VIRGTNIA AVENUE BETWEEN GORTLAIQD AVEN'UE AND
WALNUT AVENUEo
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Annexatior. of Uninhabited Terri-
tory Act of i93g, as amended, there was presented to the City Council
o£ the City o£ Lynwood, Cali£ornia, a petition dated May 7, 1964,
executed by George Kanamoto, requesting the annexation of certain
property lying on the west side of Virginia Aver,ue hetween Cortland
Avenue and Walmat Avenue, in the ~ounty of' Los Angeles, State of
~ ~
California, and hereinafter parti~ul.arlv descr^ibed, and
W1~REAS, the City Council. of s~id city, by Resolution No.
64-35, adopted on the 19th day of M~y, 1g64, duly gave notice of
and fixed the 7th day of July, 1964, at 7:30 p,m, in the Council
Chambers of the City Hall, 1133~ Hullis Road, Lynwood, California, as
the day, hour, and place wnen an.d where any person owning real property
within tYie territory to be annexed and having any ob,jections to the
proposed annexation mignt appear• be£~re said City Council and show
cause why such territory should not be so annexed, and
WHEREAS, said resolution was published in the Lynwood Press,
a newspaper af general circuiatian, pr.irted and published ir, the City
of Lynwood, and also in the Heral.d American, a newspaper of general
circulation published outs3de of the Cit;~ ~f° Lynwood but in the
county in which is located the territory ~roposed to be ar.nexed, and

does ordain as follows;
Section l, That pursnant to the "Annexation of tininhabited
Territor°y Act of 1g39" as amended, th~ annexatio~ of that certain
territory contiguous to the City of Lynwood in the County o~° Los
Angeles, State of California, desigr.ated as "Atlantic Avenue
Annexation No. 5" as hereina£ter m~re particularly described, hereby
is app^oved,
Said territory lying on the west side of Virginia Avenue
between Cortiand Avenue ar.d Walnut Avenue, and in the County of Los
Angeles, State of California, and ~ying within the following described
boundaries:
Beginning at a point of intersection of° the Lynwood City
Boundary, as said boundary existed this 17th day of January, 1964,
with the westerly prolongation of the southerly line of Cortland
Avenue, 30 feet wide, as shovm tan map ~f Tract No. 6728, recorded
ir Book 125, pages 19 and 20 of Maps, in tne oPfice o£ the Recorder
of Las Angeles County, State of Caiif°orn3ag ther.ce9 easterly along
